You Think You're on the Fifth Floor, but Actually... (First Update)
"Boss, it's so cold here! I feel like the snowstorm is even stronger than when we arrived."
A short man wearing an undershirt and a plant fiber canopy was sneezing and complaining.
Because they were unfamiliar with the terrain near the shelter, the group stumbled along, often slipping on potholes and snow.
The man in the yellow cotton-padded jacket, who was called the leader, looked up at the sky after hearing the words, then looked at the others who were intimidated by the short man's words, and immediately flicked him on the head:
"Isn't it normal for the wind and snow to change in intensity? Do you expect it to stay at the same level forever? Do you think you're the Thunder God or the Lightning Goddess of your Chinese land?"
"Boss, the Thunder God and Lightning Goddess of our China don't care about snow," a Da Tou man who had cut open his pants and put the two pant legs over his arms replied.
Undoubtedly, after saying this, he also received a flick on the Da Tou.
"I see you're all just afraid of Su Mo. I think we're all human, and he doesn't know magic, so what's there to be nervous about?"
"When the time comes, do as I say and blow up his shelter. Once he's inside, all the brothers will have meat to eat and soup to drink!"
"Now, who dares to back down in the face of battle? I acknowledge you as brothers, but my Steel Blade doesn't care about brotherhood!"
Wearing a yellow cotton-padded jacket, Marshall spat viciously onto the Steel Blade, his eyes sweeping over the group with an indescribable ferocity.
Startled by his words, the remaining five people immediately became much more obedient and continued walking forward with their heads down.
The weather is cold, but my heart is even colder.
The bombing of Su Mo's shelter left not only these people feeling uncertain, but even Marshall was in a state of confusion.
Everyone knows that Su Mo is a ruthless killer who wipes out five other humans with a wave of his hand without uttering a single word.
Attacking such a formidable opponent with the weapons they have would be suicide.
Even Su Mo himself was unaware that, through word of mouth, he had become infamous.
"Don't stay home, don't stay home, don't stay home!" Marshall kept repeating to himself as he looked at the Underground Shelter hilltop that had come into view in the distance, his legs trembling slightly.
When the group of six reached fifty meters from the Underground Shelter, the first person's legs gave way and he collapsed to the ground. The others also couldn't hold on any longer and all fell to the ground in the snow.
Holding the Steel Blade, Marshall wiped his head in the cold weather and was surprised to find that beads of sweat were already seeping out.
The Stone Gate of the Underground Shelter resembled a giant beast that could devour people, lying prostrate on the ground, with black mist seemingly emanating from it, inspiring fear at first glance.
"What are you afraid of? I have confirmed that Su Mo is not in his shelter today. All of you, charge!"
Feeling guilty, Marshall shouted something, gripped his Steel Blade tightly, and pretended to walk upstairs nonchalantly.
The five people behind them looked at each other, completely bewildered.
After a while, seeing that Marshall had already reached the stone wall of the shelter and still hadn't reacted, these people excitedly got up and rushed forward as if afraid of falling behind.
"Da Tou, Baboon, you two go to the back and find Su Mo's back door. Simmons, you watch his front door!"
"Gibson, you go find his ventilation duct. Monkey, you go from the left, I'll go from the right, find the spot I told you about before!"
After confirming that Su Mo was indeed not in the shelter, Marshall became excited and stood in front of the Underground Shelter, passionately shouting commands.
At a command, the six people began to perform their respective duties and quickly got to work.
Unfortunately, a short while later, the two people who were looking for the spot nearby, and the two people who were responsible for finding the back door, were dumbfounded!
"Boss, this shelter looks different from what we saw in the live stream before?"
"Boss, the back door is gone?"
Hearing his subordinates say this, Marshall was a little confused. He shook his head and went to the back, even taking out a design drawing and looking at it on the ground.
"That's right, this is it!" Marshall panicked after looking at the points marked on the map and estimating the distances based on the landmarks.
"Boss, his refuge doesn't seem to be the way we thought it was. We haven't found the spot you mentioned." The monkey chimed in.
Standing in the wind and snow, six "refugees" dressed like gangsters looked at each other.
In the end, everyone's attention was once again drawn to Marshall, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Su Mo is a human being too, just like us, with two hands and two feet. He's just a bit luckier. If he were standing in front of me, I'd chop him in half with one stroke. You can just ask him if he dares to come!"
"What are you looking at me for? Dig! I don't believe such a big exit can just disappear like that?"
Under everyone's gaze, Marshall angrily took out five shovels from his Storage Space and threw them on the ground.
His eyes flashed with a fierce light, as if the five people would be killed if they didn't dig.
Seeing how fierce Marshall was, the five of them had no choice but to timidly pick up the shovels and head towards the place Marshall had arranged.
Snowflakes fell, a strong wind blew, and the six men dug at the marked location, sweating profusely!
Unfortunately, the six of them were unaware that underground beside the Acid Rain Lake, a group of people who shared the same thoughts as them were quietly watching them. "Chao Ge, you said Marshall's group went out before dawn and have already walked over a hundred miles. What were they doing?"
"Zhang Ren, are you afraid Chao Ge will trick you? If it weren't for that old dog Maeda Kento giving Chao Ge the task of monitoring Marshall, we'd probably still be in the dark by the time Marshall got his share of the benefits."
"That's true, but that old dog Maeda Kento never expected that we brothers would sneak over here to be the ones to catch the cicadas!"
Following the footprints he left on the ground, the man called Chao Ge smiled slightly, listening to the flattery of his two subordinates without making any response.
Seeing this, the people behind him admired him even more, and Chao Ge's figure seemed even taller.
Being woken up in the middle of the night is usually very unpleasant, but after learning that Marshall had secretly led his men out of the Kobold Castle, these people couldn't sleep anymore! In this awful weather, considering the dangers outside, the Kobold Castle, despite its terrible stench, was the safest place.
Going out?
No one gets up early without a reason. Marshall must have caught up with some clue or found something good to keep for himself! With this in mind, the group of eight also left the city gate and hurriedly followed the footprints.
This journey covered over a hundred miles, from dusk till dawn. In this weather, they had to rest more than ten times along the way before finally reaching this point.
"Brothers, it looks like Marshall's destination is just ahead; the footprints are quite clear!"
After walking another kilometer and a half, seeing the scattered footprints on the ground, Chao Ge waved his hand and pulled out several large pieces of white cloth! Everyone took a piece of white cloth and immediately spread out, keeping a five-meter distance between each person, as agreed beforehand.
The group, dressed in bright colors, covered themselves with white cloths and then burrowed into the snow, instantly becoming hidden under the cover of the swirling snow.
After walking a short distance, the eight people finally followed the footprints to the front of the Underground Shelter.
Even Chao Ge was deeply shaken by this!
It wasn't anything else, but the discovery of exactly where this place was! "Holy crap, isn't this Su God's refuge? So we've been right next to him all along? How did Marshall find this place?"
"Ambush Su God? Does Marshall have a death wish?"
The shock brought the eight people together, and everyone's face was filled with barely suppressed astonishment.
Even Chao Ge, despite the freezing weather, was blushing and his heart was pounding! This was Su Mo's refuge! In the eyes of all Chinese people, Su Mo had now been established as a role model, inspiring others to strive to survive!
Especially according to the estimates and deductions of other people on various channels, as long as you can Su Mo Soma's refuge, you can easily get through this winter, let alone this winter, or even two or three people!
"Calm down, everyone. Marshall's rabble dared to attack Su Mo's refuge, so they must have received some definite information. It's very possible that Su Mo isn't even in the refuge right now, or that something has happened to him!"
Chao Ge's words were reasonable and well-founded, and the other seven nodded repeatedly, looking as if they would follow his lead without question.
"Su Mo is, after all, one of our Chinese. If he were alive, we would beg him and try to join his refuge. If he were dead, how could Marshall and his ilk possibly be worthy of Su Mo's inheritance!"
"Now, let's split up and sneak towards the nearby points. Remember, we absolutely cannot be spotted!"
Upon hearing Chao Ge's words, the remaining seven nodded in unison, their eyes filled with an indescribable fervor and excitement.
With a gesture from Chao Ge, everyone dispersed again, heading towards the perimeter of the Underground Shelter.
From God's perspective, looking down, these people vaguely formed a pocket, surrounding the six people working hard on the hilltop.
The wind is still blowing.
The snow is still falling.
You stand on the bridge admiring the scenery.
People are watching you from the bridge.
