New Rules, a Lone Wolf's Carnival
Last time I woke up, the Game Panel directly prompted me whether I had reached the top of the live stream rankings, but this time, the panel gave me no prompt at all.
With these questions in mind, Su Mo focused his mind and opened the Game Panel.
Sure enough, in the chat function, in addition to the World Channel and Area Channel, the previous Disaster Resistance Channel reappeared.
Click into the Disaster Resistance Channel.
This time, the number of live streaming rooms has doubled compared to the last time, with a total of twenty live streaming rooms listed on it.
"Ugh, none of the top ten shelters from last time are even in the top twenty, and judging from these names, they all seem to be lone wolves!"
Last time, all the shelters that were able to get the live broadcast qualification were team-type shelters. Apart from Su Mo, the smallest one had at least seven people!
In comparison, these headlines seem more like a lone wolf's celebration.

"Shattering the Altar: Speculating on the Future Development Trends of Shelters Under Future Disasters by Descending from the Rocky Grounds of Su Mo's Refuge"
Was the fall of Su Mo inevitable or accidental? Join my live stream to analyze it together.
Multi-person shelters (×), single-person shelters (√), only lone wolves can survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
On the homepage, the number of people in each shelter is listed as follows: except for one shelter which has six people, most other shelters have three to five people.
As for one person, I haven't seen it yet.
Furthermore, in these live streams, it's unclear who started this trend, but several have started using the name "Su Mo" to gain attention and attract viewers.
After trying to click into the live stream where the altar was shattered, my vision went black, and I was back in the familiar observation view.
With the viewpoint in the sky, and trying to steer it downwards, Su Mo saw the terrain of this refuge.
Vast and boundless mountains!
The undulating mountain ranges lie like giant beasts, with towering peaks firmly blocking the wind and protecting the lower slopes from its onslaught.
Meanwhile, the snow fell down the uneven terrain, filling the valleys connecting each mountain peak.
Unlike Underground Shelter, the location of this live-streaming studio did not adopt the conventional method of sheltering in a shelter, but instead chose to dig a cave in the mountain.
The mountain wasn't high up; it was situated right in the middle of the mountains, and at the edge of the viewpoint, a striking temperature marker was displayed: -11℃! Switching to the streamer's perspective, before Su Mo could even listen to what the person was saying, the live stream chat suddenly erupted in excitement.
"Oh? Welcome back to my live stream, Su Mo, who was number one last time?"
"Did they just wake up or just finished disaster relief? Make a bigger fire; in this freezing weather, as the hope of our nation, they mustn't perish!"
Ahead, a Little New Year with dyed yellow hair looked at the Game Panel in the void with a provocative expression, spouting all sorts of sarcastic remarks.
"Um?"
Trying to bring up the chat panel next to him, Su Mo was astonished to find that the live stream room was clearly marked at the top:
[Welcome to the live stream room - Su Mo, the No.1 player in the first disaster relief rankings!]
"So this is how it can be done! It's a bit like the announcement of the emperor entering the live stream on a live streaming platform on Earth!"
Shaking his head, Su Mo wasn't annoyed. He patiently watched as the blond-haired man in the video continued to act arrogantly and argue with the comments section.
As the first person in the last one, Su Mo has gained some popularity over time, and at this time, there are quite a few "Keyboard Immortal" in the barrage who stand up to argue with him.
Unfortunately, this blond guy is also a cunning dog. As soon as he sees someone criticizing him, he immediately sends them to a ban.
"Su God, Su God, your fans are amazing! I wish your shelters were this strong!"
With a helpless shrug, Su Mo looked at the blond-haired guy's smug face, memorized his features, and left the live stream.
Su Mo has gained a preliminary understanding of the evaluation criteria this time, based on the comments on the live stream.
Unlike the previous assessment based on the disaster resilience of the shelters, this time the evaluation was based entirely on the overall temperature inside the shelters.
The higher the temperature, the higher the shelter development coefficient, and the higher the temperature, the higher the ranking.
Naturally, the reason why large shelters are not on the list is quite obvious.
Because there are so many shelters, even if one room has a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, if one of the remaining rooms has a temperature below 0 degrees Celsius, it cannot be included on the list.
"The coefficient is only meaningful when the temperature is above zero."
"When the temperature is at or below zero, the calculated disaster resilience index is a negative number, so it naturally cannot be included in the list."
This set of rules is very simple to calculate, and it is also a balance that the game applies to all shelters.
The aim is to tell everyone that you don't have to stick together to survive in the apocalypse; three or five people can also live very well.
Otherwise, the same rules would be used to calculate the disaster resilience of shelters every time.
Large shelters always rank first due to their large number of members and their advantage at the front, making it impossible for other lone wolves and small shelters to ever make it onto the leaderboard and enjoy airdrop rewards.
"A very reasonable setup. It's a pity that everyone thinks I'm going to perish."
After clicking into every live stream with the name "Su Mo" in it, and enjoying the various antics of these people, Su Mo remained unperturbed, happily sitting atop the hill, waiting for Oreo to finish its evolution.
This year's selection criteria are more stringent than the last; simply raising the temperature of your shelter doesn't guarantee you'll be number one.
For example, the real-time temperature of the three-person shelter currently ranked first is only 14 degrees Celsius, but it is firmly suppressing the real-time temperature of the second-ranked shelter, which is 18 degrees Celsius.
The reason for this is that the game's selection also takes into account the authenticity of the temperature.
When the temperature reaches above 0 degrees Celsius, if it remains above 0 degrees Celsius for one hour, a measure similar to "positioning" will be implemented.
The temperature will be set at the current temperature. Once it reaches the standard of 6 degrees for the 20th place, it can be listed.
Subsequently, if the current temperature of the shelter exceeds the historical temperature and can remain above this temperature for an hour, the temperature will be refreshed by one degree.
If someone simply adds firewood and tries to surpass others in ranking by increasing the instantaneous temperature, this rule effectively prevents such people from doing so.
"Let the bullets fly a little longer, let these people be arrogant for a little while longer, there's no rush."
Feeling his body stiff from the cold, Su Mo pressed the heating switch on his waist again, activating hot air to warm his body.
Over three days, Oreo's safety must be the top priority.
As long as Oreo can successfully evolve its bloodline, Su Mo would be willing to sit outside all day!
Time passed slowly, and the heavy snow had buried half of Su Mo's body. Lying in the snow watching the live broadcast, Su Mo was happy to have some peace and quiet.
Several bold mutated Snow Rabbit, who initially ran away upon first sight, gradually came over and stayed near Su Mo, running around and playing.
Snow Rabbit are generally solitary animals except during their mating season.
During the day, they hide in simple burrows in bushes, depressions, and under fallen trees, lined with dead branches, fallen leaves, and their own shed fur.
This animal is active at dawn, dusk, and night, and its burrows are not fixed, hence the saying "a cunning rabbit has three burrows".
The encyclopedia clearly states that this animal is not aggressive at all. Su Mo doesn't try to drive away the extra neighbors, and casually grabs a very playful one and tugs at it.
"It's a pity. Rabbits aren't suitable for farming; they're also quite unintelligent. Capturing them and putting them in the shelter would just mean adding another big eater. It's better to let them roam freely in the depression and enrich the ecosystem."
The Snow Rabbit was startled when it was caught by Su Mo, but the longer Su Mo stroked it, the more peacefully it lay down and enjoyed it.
Seeing this, the other Snow Rabbit also rushed over, making whimpering sounds, begging Su Mo to pet them.
The mutated wasteland creatures have abandoned most of the habits of Earth's original creatures and are extremely friendly to humans when they find them to be.
After rummaging around for a while, he looked for the remaining plant fibers in his Storage Space, took some out and gave them to the little guys. Watching the Snow Rabbit run happily away, pulling the plant fibers with them, Su Mo's mood improved.
Every round of disaster is both the tolling of death and the clarion call of new life.
As disaster strikes, the game will release a large number of wasteland creatures to populate the desolate wasteland world.
If an ecological dome with sufficient disaster resistance could be built, it might be possible to realize the concept of a "Small World" through a diverse array of wasteland creatures.
"Why think that far ahead? Let's wait until I find more information about the last disaster!"
Ma Gu's information has brought too much convenience, and Su Mo is also very curious about the final outcome of the last human exodus.
Opening the friends panel, Su Mo found a friend whose profile picture was now blacked out, and casually created a fourth account to keep track of them.
"I'll use this account for now to record some plans for the future!"
After writing this sentence, Su Mo took advantage of the free time to start thinking about plans after the disaster was over.
If, as described in Ma Gu's diary, there is indeed an exceptionally long period of rest after the Snow Disaster, Su Mo has decided to take the initiative to confront the outside world.
We must at least thoroughly explore the entire 300-kilometer radius around the Underground Shelter!
