On Being Put on the Shelves!!
Thinking back to ten years ago.
The author's home is in a small town at the foot of a mountain. His father runs a tofu shop, barely making ends meet.
When I first learned to drive, my father would have me drive to deliver tofu to buyers! We had an old-fashioned 86 at home, and I would drive it up and down the mountain every day to deliver goods.
At first, I was not only slow, but the tofu was always broken when I delivered it! My father would beat me every time I came home! He really beat me! My whole body was covered in bruises from being whipped! I was beaten like this from junior high school until high school, when the beatings gradually lessened.
After high school, I developed a love for writing and tried to write some "formal" pieces, submitting them to various newspapers and magazines in the hope of getting some payment.
When my father heard this, he beat me, thinking I was neglecting my duties.
However, he didn't know that my driving skills had improved significantly by then, and it only took me fifteen minutes to drive around the mountain!
And!
Not a single piece of tofu will break!
(▽)! In my senior year of high school, I met a girl from the same school. She was very pretty and had a nice voice.
She compliments my writing every day, so I secretly save up to buy her a gift!
Over time, our relationship grew stronger. I saved up my writing fees for half a year and bought 99 roses. Then, I confessed my love to her. "Xia Shu! Be my girlfriend!"
She shook her head and told me that high school was still too young, but she would agree if we went to the same university! At that time, I was full of motivation and felt excited every day. Until one rainy day, I was driving the tofu shop's car and saw her get into that middle-aged man's Mercedes-Benz!
Tears blurred my vision.
But what hurts me the most is, was it a lie when she praised my writing?! Did she think writing novels was a dead end?!
I didn't chase after her. I knew that even the fastest 86 couldn't catch Xia Shu when she got into the Mercedes.
Okay, the above is purely the author's rant. I'm not actually called Fujiwara Takumi. Of course, it feels terrible to have my work not being recognized after writing it for so many years!
I started submitting articles back in high school, and the most I ever received was 300 yuan. I treated my buddies to barbecue and even paid 150 yuan out of my own pocket for drinks! (Facepalm!) This time, as I approach graduation from university, I want to try writing some novels again to fulfill my youthful dream.
Therefore, this book on refuges came into being.
The initial motivation for writing about this topic stemmed from my love of games.
Driven by a fervent love for Farming Genre games, I own everything from large-scale Farming Genre and development games like the Fallout, Civilization, and Three Kingdoms series, to smaller games like 7 Days to Die, Don't Starve, Arknights, and Stardew Valley. I even bought the latest Dyson Sphere as soon as it was released.
Farming Genre! My absolute favorite! Farming Genre during a disaster! That's perfect!
One night, after suddenly encountering this subject matter, I decided to use it as a springboard for writing, to create my own post-apocalyptic Farming Genre novel.
The most controversial point in this book so far is the issue of family.
Speaking of parents and family, many people actually advised Sanjin not to try this before the book was published.
A Jun: After all, family is the eternal pain of Starting Point. If you write it well, no one will praise you, but if you write it poorly, a bunch of people will line up to scold you. Why bother?
B Jun: Writing about family will increase the difficulty of writing, you must know that, right? It's easy to write about an orphan, and those readers won't care. It's a way to make easy money, isn't that better? C Jun: It's a post-apocalyptic story to begin with. Adding the family element will only make things more difficult and thankless. You shouldn't write it. Actually, after writing the first three chapters, I kept adding and deleting the family element. I finally decided to add it before submitting it to the internal publication.
Writing a book is like writing my child. Su Mo is like writing my best friend of many years. I am helping him write his legendary autobiography.
To be fair, whenever I put myself in Su Mo's shoes, I feel that having such a powerful shelter in the wasteland is truly remarkable.
Yet he couldn't even protect his own family, and was powerless to help his parents and sister.
What is the point of such a shelter? Is it to protect one's own short lifespan of a few decades, to protect one's fragile body, or to protect the future of humanity?
Even if one day Su Mo stands at the pinnacle of the world, his own child will be by his side!
Looking down into the distance, the child asked, "Where are my grandparents?" How heartbroken Su Mo must have been at that moment!
Therefore, I added it! Moreover, I promise that I will do my best to write it well and to bring out the personal characteristics of Su Ba, Su Ma, and Su Mei!
Now that the explanation is over, it's time for the usual "crying poor" part!
Many people would say that authors don't incur any costs, but I actually want to say that sitting in front of the computer day after day typing away, lying in bed at night thinking about plots and suffering from insomnia, and the pain in the neck and shoulders are all intangible costs that are more painful than physical labor.
This pain was especially severe during Calvin's time.
Here, I would like to ask for subscriptions, especially first-time subscriptions. The first-time subscription rate of a book is crucial to its life cycle.
Of course, I know that asking for subscriptions without mentioning updates is simply being dishonest! The book will be available for purchase after midnight tonight, with five chapters! From now on, I will guarantee at least two updates per day, around 3000 words each time, while maintaining quality! The editor's estimate for this book is around 2000-2500 initial subscriptions, which is actually considered quite poor considering it has 30,000 favorites.
So, once we exceed 2500 first-time subscribers, I'll add one extra chapter for every 100 more! There's no limit! If we reach 3000 first-time subscribers, that'll be five extra chapters! As for monthly tickets, if we exceed 1000 tickets in a month, we'll add one extra chapter for every 500 extra tickets! There's no limit!! Everyone, feel free to shower me with your tickets!
If you donate, this will be an extra chapter. To ensure the quality of the story and avoid blindly adding chapters that would ruin the plot or unnecessarily padded it out, Sanjin is doing this: Two extra chapters for Alliance Leaders! Ten extra chapters for Silver-level contributors!
I'll add 50 more chapters for the Gold Medal! (Just dream about it, it's not very realistic.) The top ten fans on the fan ranking with a fan value greater than the leader's will get an extra chapter! The top twenty with a fan value greater than the leader's will get an extra chapter! And so on. As long as the performance targets are met, Sanjin's updates will definitely satisfy everyone! bows
Finally, a big thank you to all the fellow authors who discussed starting the book in the author group, and to the big shots in the group! A little sacrifice! Tangtang's: Signing in to the Immortal Martial World, Building a Divine Dynasty of Destiny
Shuang Mei's: Global Arrival: Survival on a Desert Island
Shan He's: Global Disaster Survival: Starting with SSS-level Rewards
Eight Claw God's "Global Island Survival: 100,000x Critical Hit"
After typing out all these book titles, Sanjin realized it really felt like a studio setting, hahaha! If any of you have a book title you like, feel free to check it out! "Eighty-one Tribulations!" That perfectly corresponds to the eighty-one chapters before this book's official release! I humbly beg all readers to help Sanjin overcome these tribulations and achieve enlightenment! Please support the official subscription, please support the author!!! Thank you!!!
