Background / History

Chen Qingfeng is a Chen Family member who manages Wanchun Hall, a Fengle City pharmacy and acquisition point. He first meets Lu Chuan when the latter brings in fierce-beast materials and crystal cores; Chen is impressed that a youth from the slums reached the Martial Arts Reaching Rank with so few resources. He turns their initial transaction into a continuing business relationship, supplying Lu with weapons, potions, and cultivation methods. 11 12 13

He is a member of the Demon Suppressing Division, an identity initially concealed from Lu Chuan. He identifies Lu Wangshu’s unusually high spiritual essence, provides medicine for her recovery, and investigates the Spirit Snake Cult’s infiltration of Fengle City. 38

Chen holds little affection for Chen Qifeng and is openly untroubled by his presumed death. He also bears intense hatred for Ruan Qingyu, the Chen patriarch’s wife. Chen Qingfeng is observant, commercially shrewd, and exceptionally quick at drawing conclusions from limited information. He deduces Lu Chuan’s contact with Kunlun Martial Arts School and Ning Yang from a few details, then offers a candid assessment of rival factions based on their resources and leadership rather than family loyalties. 33
