He had always used this method, forcing himself to fall asleep. "Forget it. I might as well take a walk around the Royal Palace. I'm already inside it anyway." Uchiha Hiko had never been able to explore anywhere else; he could only access a small part of the Royal Palace.
He was actually very curious about this place. He had heard the Second Prince and the Eldest Prince describe how splendid it was, yet after finally arriving here, he had not had any larger space to explore.
He headed out. The lights at night had grown dimmer, but they did not make him feel sleepy at all. He had not expected bright lights to make him tired, but that was not something he could change now.
"How strange. Why is it like this? Could my body be naturally different from everyone else's?" Uchiha Hiko stopped dwelling on it and spotted a spiral staircase.
Slowly, he walked to the edge of the stairs. When he looked up, he saw only profound darkness. The topmost level was presumably where the Eldest Prince stayed.
But when he lowered his head, he discovered that the space below was just as hollow, like a bottomless abyss. He had no idea how many levels lay beneath the Royal Palace.
"Since it's already so late, climbing upward probably won't lead anywhere. I might even disturb the Eldest Prince and ruin his day tomorrow." Uchiha Hiko decided to head down and investigate.
"Hey, Uchiha Hiko, what are you doing?" The moment he stepped onto the first stair, a voice suddenly came from behind him. It nearly scared him to death, though it did not stop him.
When he turned around, he found the Second Prince standing there blankly, as though he had nothing better to do.
"Are you
