Background

Luo Zheng was the eldest son of the Luo Family's main branch and the son of family head Luo Xiao. After Luo Xiao was poisoned and assassinated by his own brother, Luo Zheng was stripped of his status and reduced to a Luo Family slave used as a human target for disciples' training. 1

His experience as a slave shaped his rejection of his father's belief in repaying evil with kindness. Luo Zheng concluded that Luo Xiao's mercy toward his relatives enabled Luo Bingquan and Luo Junyi to usurp the family, and he later returned to Chongyang County to reclaim the Luo Family leadership. 313 321

Luo Zheng eventually learned that Luo Xiao had survived and that his family history extended far beyond Chongyang County. His mother, Li Luo Shui—originally named Luo River—is Chi You's daughter, making Luo Zheng part of the Nine Li Royal Clan. 1639 2070 2857
