Background / History

Mana is the energetic student council president of Daibei First Middle School and the leader of her Pretty Cure team. She treats Ai-chan as a child in her care, readily calling herself the girl's “mom who takes care of her.” 57 64

After Ash defeats the Pretty Cures and brings them to the hospital, Mana thanks him for helping her friends but refuses to accept his self-centered philosophy. Instead, she resolves to become his friend and change his view of love. 63 64

During the Dark Zone conflict, Mana refuses Regina's demand that she abandon her friends. Her determination awakens a temporary surge of power, allowing her to help destroy the Dark Zone with the Lovely Force Arrow. 79 80

Ash's later capture of Arisu and defeat of Mana's teammates devastates her. She withdraws from school and isolates herself at home, believing she has failed as Cure Heart. Regina's intervention and Mana's realization that Ash seeks the resolute Cure Heart rekindle her fighting spirit. 119 130 132
