Background / History

Liu Chen was born to Liu Xi, the Green Lotus Emperor, and Qing Yan Jing, Clan Leader of the Fu Tu Ancient Clan. His exceptional lineage made him the first-in-line heir to the Fu Tu Ancient Clan, while his privileged upbringing left him initially uninterested in cultivation. He was nourished by Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures before birth and grew up wanting for nothing 791 792.

Three years before his return to the Green Lotus Realm, the ancient divine artifact Mirror of Judgment selected Liu Chen for the Spirit Road. He entered casually, relying on his unsealed bloodline to remain undefeated in an environment nearly devoid of spiritual energy 791.

During the Spirit Road, Liu Chen met Luo Li. Their hostile first encounter developed into companionship after he learned of her arranged engagement and promised to help free her from it. When other participants targeted Luo Li to exploit Liu Chen's sole weakness, his bloodline erupted as a black sun that destroyed half of the Spirit Road; the Judgment Realm could only send him away. This incident earned him the title “Spirit Road Destroyer” 791.

After returning home, Liu Chen became markedly more disciplined, mature, and resolute. He cultivated to the Heaven-Piercing Realm, then left the Green Lotus Realm with Jiu You to find Luo Li at Northern Cang Spiritual Academy 791 793.

Liu Chen began as a pampered young master accustomed to his family's overwhelming status, wealth, and protection. He could be arrogant and dismissive toward opponents he considered beneath him, particularly during his early time at Northern Cang Spiritual Academy 797 802.

His experiences on the Spirit Road and later battlefields gradually tempered him into a decisive and iron-blooded cultivator. The campaigns in Tianluo Continent taught him the reality of life-and-death combat, replacing his earlier casualness with a more direct and resolute fighting style 809 810.

Luo Li is central to his motivation. Her departure left him devastated, but also gave him the resolve to become strong enough to protect her without relying solely on his parents' influence 806 807. He remains deeply loyal to those close to him and takes promises seriously, even when fulfilling them places him against powerful factions 791 801.
