Kimimaro's reaction made Kisame Hoshigaki laugh.
"Come with me."
Clearly, Kimimaro was displeased with how Kisame Hoshigaki addressed him, but Kisame Hoshigaki could not be bothered to care. The two of them were not even on the same level right now. Kisame Hoshigaki had no interest in arguing with Kimimaro, so long as he did not go too far.
Kisame Hoshigaki was merely impulsive by nature, not insane. He would not roar about killing someone just because they disliked him.
Without asking why, Kimimaro followed Kisame Hoshigaki out of the residence and headed toward the secret chamber where Ronglin cultivated.
The secret chamber looked rather dim. Following behind Kisame Hoshigaki, Kimimaro's heart pounded endlessly, impossible to calm. He was filled with both anticipation and unease.
He did not know why Ronglin wanted to see him. It might have been a good thing, or it might have been a bad thing.
Kimimaro had no idea which it was.
"Go in."
They walked slowly all the way there. Only upon reaching the entrance to the secret chamber did Kisame Hoshigaki stop and gesture for Kimimaro to enter alone.
"Whew..."
Taking a deep breath, Kimimaro suddenly felt nervous. Kisame Hoshigaki's lips curled slightly as he folded his arms and leaned against the wall, saying nothing as he watched him.
Ignoring the amusement in Kisame Hoshigaki's eyes, Kimimaro knew that he was about to face the strongest person in the entire Land of Fire—perhaps even the whole world. It would have been a lie to say he was not nervous.
No matter how confident Kimimaro was, he did not think he could compare to Ronglin. The gap between them was immense.
