Anrield was drenched in sweat and did not dare answer Ronglin.
Ronglin said calmly, "Everyone saw what happened today. If certain things aren't nipped in the bud, the consequences once they spread will be terrifying!"
Hearing this, Anrield tried to gauge Ronglin's meaning, then suddenly raised his head. "Boss, please entrust the task of capturing cities and strongholds to me. I am willing to lead the Third Fleet and redeem myself through merit."
Ronglin glanced at Bilida and Hawkins. The two exchanged looks and both nodded in agreement.
Taking down the Lodun Islands would originally have been a major achievement, but letting Anrield claim this credit now would save his life.
The two of them were simply doing him a favor.
Ronglin shouted at the surrendered pirates ahead, "Your captain, Burgess, has already surrendered to me!"
As he spoke, he glanced at Burgess. Burgess smiled bitterly inwardly, but still had to nod with a smile on his face, indicating that it was indeed true.
"So, do you want to surrender to me along with him, or jump into the sea and swim back yourselves?" Ronglin continued. "I won't keep prisoners, but I will give prisoners a chance to earn merit, join my forces, and gain important positions!"
One of the pirates asked tremblingly, "The opportunity you mentioned... you don't mean becoming cannon fodder, do you?"
