Clang!
A deafening crash of metal striking something hard rang out. Moria felt as though his weapon had struck something indestructible. An immensely powerful rebound force surged back through the scissors, jolting both his hands numb and sore. He nearly lost his grip on his weapon.
!! Startled, Moria looked up and saw Ronglin tightly pinching his weapon between the fingers of both hands. Ronglin looked utterly relaxed, as if he had not blocked it with any weapon at all.
Moria's heart shook, but he exerted more force with both hands. Ignoring the numbness, soreness, and weakness in his arms, he desperately pressed the double scissors toward Ronglin. Yet no matter how much strength Moria used, his bloated body held no advantage whatsoever against Ronglin's comparatively small, slender frame. His weapon remained firmly clamped between Ronglin's fingers.
Moria knew there were many people in this world who could easily block his weapon, but he had never imagined that someone could catch it barehanded and leave him unable to move.
"Heh heh! Still refusing to admit defeat?" Ronglin chuckled. He exerted force with both hands, clamping the two blades of the scissors and slowly raising them over his head. Unwilling to abandon his weapon, Moria watched in horror as the double scissors in his hands kept rising—and then his entire body was slowly lifted into the air by Ronglin.
Seeing this ridiculous sight, Ronglin laughed. He had not expected Moria to be so stubborn that he refused to let go of his weapon.
Seeing the smile on Ronglin's face, Moria became both ashamed and furious. A sharp gleam flashed in his eyes as the shadow in the distance suddenly reacted, reconnecting with him. It was no longer like before, when it had abruptly lost contact and become impossible to command.
