"What are you doing? Easy!" Caesar managed to squeeze out a complaint amid his work.
"I think this sea area should be a fairly well-traveled route, yet we haven't seen a single person these past few days." Ronglin spoke without stopping his hands. "It's strange! I want to check the map and see what geographical features there are nearby."
Caesar stopped what he was doing and quickly searched through his memories of the map of this sea region. Then he said, "This place really is rather special. To the south lies the Sea of Thunderclouds, where lightning falls constantly. To the north is the Sea of Blazing Flame, where the entire sea burns with scorching heat. Few people can set foot in either place. So ordinary ships can only travel along the straight east-west route between them. If no one can be found on this route, then that really is strange!"
Beside them, Burgess's eyes rolled as he asked Ronglin, "So what if there's no one around? Isn't that normal?"
"It isn't normal!" Ronglin shook his head. "If you don't encounter a single person for a long time on the only navigable route, it points to a serious problem. The merchant ships and pirates that once traveled this route can no longer use it. That's why we haven't run into anyone!"
Burgess scratched his head. "Why can't they use this route when everything was fine?"
Ronglin glanced at Caesar. A trace of shock appeared in Caesar's eyes. "Boss, are you saying that the people who should have been traveling this route have changed course? Or been detained? Someone is waiting for us ahead, and they don't want us to know they're waiting for us, so they've forbidden anyone from passing through this route to prevent their whereabouts from being exposed?"
