Ronglin lightly twisted his neck, avoiding Kid's "talk-no-jutsu," then planted a foot on Kid's mouth and pinned him to the ground. "What are you still holding onto? I beat you half to death, and your life is in my hands. Other than surrendering, what else can you do?"
"A true man may be killed, but never humiliated!" Killer, who had been forced to kneel off to the side, roared furiously at Ronglin.
Buzz! Ronglin flicked a chopstick beside the table with one hand. The chopstick became a streak of light and, with a sharp crack, plunged into Killer's mask. Blood sprayed from the holes in the mask. Killer gave a muffled groan and could no longer speak.
The surrounding crowd trembled in fear. Judging from where the mask had been pierced, it was right around his mouth and face, and from the side at that. The chopstick had probably gone straight through both of Killer's cheeks. Opening his mouth was likely impossible now.
Ronglin's decisive and brutal methods sent a chill through them. Some even began to wonder whether the reports praising his "benevolent rule" were true or false.
"Nosy." Ronglin coldly glanced at Killer, who was coughing up blood, then turned and removed his foot from Kid's mouth. Kid finally caught his breath, rolled over onto his stomach, and panted heavily.
"Do you really have to take this so seriously?" Ronglin said lightly. "Hawkins refused to join me no matter what back then. Isn't he doing quite well under me now? Do you think you're somehow more important than Hawkins? Will surrendering to me kill you?"
