Kaido flew into a rage upon learning of the incident. He immediately abandoned Blackbeard and turned to pursue the brazen thieves who had dared to snatch the Poneglyph from his hands.
This time, however, Blackbeard stopped wasting words with Kaido. He trailed behind him the whole way, relentlessly attacking. After all, according to their agreement, the Poneglyph in Crocodile's possession was to be handed over to Blackbeard. If Crocodile could not safely withdraw from Kaido's territory, his dream of becoming Pirate King would suffer a serious blow.
Thus, the situation reversed. Blackbeard pursued and attacked Kaido all the way, while Kaido had no mind to keep tangling with him. He split his forces into three groups to intercept these unidentified enemies, while he himself cut off their retreat and blocked Blackbeard's pursuit.
On the ninth day, one of the pursuing forces Kaido had dispatched sent back word. The Beasts Pirates had encountered the enemy, and the two sides had engaged in a fierce battle. In the end, the Beasts Pirates suffered a crushing defeat, with countless dead and wounded.
Only then did the shocked and enraged Kaido learn that the mysterious enemy force was the Eight Treasures Navy of the Star Alliance, led by the former Seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile. He had not dispatched any of the Three Disasters, believing that sending some powerful pirates would be enough. He had never expected them to run into Crocodile.
Without combat power on the level of the Three Disasters to suppress them, Crocodile, Chinjao, Old Cai, and the other powerful members of the Eight Treasures Navy completely overwhelmed the Beasts Pirates. After crushing them, they departed in grand fashion and broke free from the Beasts Pirates' pursuit.
The furious Kaido finally understood that he had been led around by the
