"Hmph!" Ronglin exerted force beneath his feet, and Six Powers—Shave carried him away from where he stood.
"Whoosh!" Yet the black shadow's massive size exceeded Ronglin's expectations. A huge claw swept across, effortlessly snapping tree trunks two meters thick.
Ronglin's eyes flickered as his hands rapidly formed seals. Countless images of Ronglin appeared out of thin air. In an instant, he used the Shadow Clone Jutsu to confuse the black shadow that had ambushed him from behind.
The claw was clearly startled by the sudden scene, slowing slightly. Ronglin's real body had already withdrawn, using the momentum to make several rapid evasive movements through the forest. He circled behind it and was finally able to face his attacker head-on.
A humanoid canine creature over twenty meters tall appeared before Ronglin. It wore armor-like protective gear, and a Zanpakuto-like weapon hung at its waist.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Humanoid Giant Dog swept out with a thick claw. All of Ronglin's Shadow Clones vanished beneath that strike. The claw instantly cleared a blank circular area in the forest, and the fierce gusts allowed Ronglin to make a rough initial estimate of the Humanoid Giant Dog's strength.
"Strange footwork and bizarre techniques. This isn't Flash Step or Kido." The Humanoid Giant Dog scanned its surroundings for Ronglin's figure. "You're not a Shinigami! Who exactly are you?"
Although Ronglin had been ambushed, he was not particularly angry. He was still immersed in the disappointment of his failed transmigration. Besides, being attacked twice in a single day by unknown creatures out in the wilderness meant his luck was truly terrible.
"Roar! I'm talking to you!" The Humanoid Giant Dog leaped into the air, spread its claws, then suddenly spun at high speed in all directions. Like a top, it whirled and tore through everything around
