The moment Ronglin entered the classroom, he heard people discussing Kakashi's application for early graduation. Something like this could not possibly be kept secret, and with Kakashi's personality, he would not deliberately hide it either.

Ronglin glanced at Kakashi, who sat with his arms folded and an unruffled expression, and did not find it surprising.

He went to his seat and sat down, pondering certain matters.

"Honestly, what's he acting so proud for?"

No sooner had he sat down than Obito's sour remark drifted over. The friction between Obito and Kakashi had mainly begun after Kakashi called him a Dead Last at the start of school, along with the way Rin had always kept her eyes on Kakashi.

Graduating early sounded good. He was a genius, but would everything really go so smoothly?

Because he was graduating early, Kakashi would be unable to get assigned to a suitable team for training, leaving him stuck in an awkward position. Otherwise, in the original story, Kakashi would not have remained unassigned until after Obito and Rin graduated, when the three of them were finally placed together on missions.

By then, Kakashi was already a Chunin, while Obito and Rin had only just graduated. The gap in strength was enormous, making the assignment utterly unreasonable. There was clearly something fishy about it.

"You don't care?" Seeing Ronglin's indifferent expression, Obito leaned closer in surprise.

"Why should I?"

Ronglin raised his head and gave him a calm look. "Don't tell me you're jealous?!"

"How could I be?!" Obito's face immediately turned red, and his voice rose several notches, drawing the attention of everyone around them.

What a blatant giveaway. Please, when you lie, at least control your darting eyes and that face red as a monkey's ass!

Ronglin shook his head and said nothing more.

"Teacher's here!!"

The shout silenced everyone. It was obvious that even Kakashi, whose expression had not changed the entire time, secretly let out a sigh of relief. It proved that he could not truly be completely indifferent. A child was still a child; he would still get nervous and care about what others said.

"Good morning, everyone."

Bozhongye entered with a textbook in hand and greeted them with a smile. Looking around the classroom, he asked in confusion, "Does anyone know why Sarutobi Asuma and Tianlin aren't at school today?"

Seeing Asuma and Tianlin's empty seats, Bozhongye asked curiously.

"I don't know." The children looked at one another and shook their heads. Meanwhile, Ronglin—the only one who knew—watched his nose, his nose watched his heart, wearing an expression that said he knew nothing.

"Alright, let's begin class."

Opening the textbook, Bozhongye continued with yesterday's lesson, while the children below came up with all sorts of guesses as to why Asuma and Tianlin had not come to school.

Those two idiots knew it would be embarrassing to come to school, so they stayed home to recover from their injuries. At least they had some self-awareness. No one noticed the faint smile at the corner of Ronglin's mouth.
