Arc 17Prison Deathmatches

Ronglin brought Mei Terumi and Kisame Hoshigaki to Konoha, then assigned them and Shisui and Uchiha Diqin to guard the understaffed Prison. After arranging for the dangerous prisoners to be reported dead and forcing the group into deathmatches, Ronglin watched them begin fighting Ran Jin.

  • Mei Terumi and Kisame Hoshigaki traveled to Konoha with Yagura and the Three-Tails, and Ronglin took the Three-Tails and Kirigakure’s supplies before releasing the captured Kirigakure people.
  • Shisui and Kisame fought in Ronglin’s courtyard, so Ronglin punished them, kept Samehada, and ordered them to train together while Mei Terumi and Uchiha Diqin joined their training.
  • Shisui, Kisame, Mei Terumi, and Uchiha Diqin took low-level missions until the Third Hokage assigned Ronglin to oversee Prison security and sent the group there.
  • Ronglin ordered the dangerous prisoners’ cells cleaned, then had the criminals reported dead after a supposed mass escape, and the Third Hokage agreed to conceal the news.
  • Ronglin told the four young ninja they could win freedom by fighting the death-row prisoners, and they prepared for the matches while he kept watch.
  • Kisame flooded the arena with Water Style: Exploding Water Colliding Wave, giving Ran Jin’s Fire Release a disadvantage as the four planned their attacks.
  • Uchiha Diqin threw kunai, Shisui and Mei Terumi attacked Ran Jin, and Kisame blocked Ran Jin’s Fire Wheel Bomb with Water Shark Bomb Technique.

Arc 18Ronglin Takes the Clan

After training Shisui and the others, Ronglin led them on a mission against the Evil God Cult, then returned to Konoha when the Uchiha suffered heavy losses. He forced Fugaku to step down, took over the clan, and used a public donation to secure the Uchiha a greater role in the village.

  • Ronglin ended the prisoners’ training after Ran Jin died, then adjusted the exercises so Shisui, Kisame Hoshigaki, Mei Terumi, and Uchiha Diqin could face opponents at full strength.
  • After three months of brutal training, Ronglin returned Samehada to Kisame Hoshigaki and took the four on an S-rank mission to investigate cultists in the Land of Rivers.
  • Ronglin traced the cultists to Yugakure, where one captive’s curse made him explode, and called off the mission before an Uchiha Clan message summoned the team back to Konoha.
  • At the clan meeting, Ronglin challenged Fugaku’s leadership and argued that the Uchiha’s heavy losses resulted from Fugaku’s failure to negotiate, use his full strength, and build influence within the village.
  • Ronglin won the Uchiha’s support, and Fugaku stepped down as clan head and Police Force head, leaving Ronglin the youngest clan head in Uchiha history.
  • Ronglin persuaded the Uchiha to donate half their stored supplies to Konoha and submitted a request for ordinary village posts for several clan members.
  • The Third Hokage accepted the supplies and agreed to consider the Uchiha’s requests, while villagers praised the donation and the major clans worried they would be expected to contribute too.
