  • Su Fei arrived in Fusang, challenged its warriors when they attacked him, and joined envoys from other nations in a temporary agreement to support one another at the ceremony.
  • After Princess Ji Yuyan disappeared, Su Fei traced the abduction to Sanada Hiroichi, found him holding the princess, and defeated him before escorting Ji Yuyan back safely.
  • Sanada Hiroichi explained that he had abducted Ji Yuyan to expose Takeda Tokumasa and disrupt the ceremony, while Su Fei condemned his actions and turned him over to Fusang officials.

Ch. 276The Fusang Kingdom's Celestial Person Ancestor Breaks Through! (Thanks for the Gifts, Readers!)

Su Fei enjoyed several days of banquets and performances in the imperial city while Takeda Tokumasa broke through to the Celestial Person Realm in Fusang. News of his breakthrough and the Fusang Kingdom’s demands reached Great Xuan, putting the court on alert amid the countries’ longstanding tensions.

  • Su Fei’s colleagues took turns hosting him at banquets and performances, and he went along with their invitations.
  • Takeda Tokumasa successfully broke through to the Celestial Person Realm at the Fusang Kingdom Sacred Mountain.
  • Takeda Tokumasa announced his breakthrough and said he would visit the emperor and demand new maidservants.
  • News spread that the Fusang Kingdom would hold a ceremony for Takeda Tokumasa and require neighboring countries to send princesses to marry him within three years.
  • Great Xuan’s people and court learned of the news, and the dynasty grew wary of the newly strengthened Fusang Kingdom and its ambitions.

Ch. 277Grand Secretary Li spoke most rightly

Emperor Xuan’s court debated how to respond to Fusang’s demand for a princess and its invitation to a ceremony celebrating Takeda Tokumasa’s rise to the Celestial Person Realm. Grand Secretary Li proposed sending Su Fei, and after the court agreed, Su Fei was summoned to the palace, where the story left him before Emperor Xuan.

  • Emperor Xuan asked his ministers how Great Xuan should answer Fusang’s invitation and demand for a princess.
  • The ministers split between refusing Fusang firmly and delaying matters to avoid war, while no one volunteered to attend the ceremony.
  • Grand Secretary Li recommended Su Fei as a capable envoy who could handle Fusang and assess its strength.
  • Emperor Xuan and the officials agreed that Su Fei was the best choice and ordered him summoned to the palace.
  • Su Fei left the Thousand Households Office, entered the great hall, and paid his respects to Emperor Xuan.

Ch. 278Marquis Su has his own plans; you need only do as he says (thanks for the reader's gift)

Emperor Xuan sent Su Fei to Fusang to attend Takeda Tokumasa’s Celestial Person ceremony, handle provocations, and assess the new patriarch’s strength. As Su Fei’s party sailed east, he ordered Zhang San and Li Si to open the state gifts and let the group choose the treasures they wanted.

  • Emperor Xuan told Su Fei about Takeda Tokumasa’s breakthrough and appointed him envoy to Fusang, where he was to uphold Great Xuan’s prestige and probe the patriarch’s abilities.
  • Su Fei accepted the mission and received a quest promising the Indestructible Golden Body and 350 years of cultivation for completing it.
  • Five days later, Su Fei departed for the Eastern Sea aboard Great Xuan’s dragon ship with Zhang San, Li Si, Palace Guard attendants, and state gifts.
  • Su Fei ordered Zhang San and Li Si to open the gift chests and let the group take anything they liked, saying the Fusang Kingdom deserved only leftover goods.
  • When an attendant leader objected, Su Fei told him that keeping the matter quiet and upholding Great Xuan’s prestige mattered more than following the rules.
  • Zhang San and Li Si directed the laborers to open the chests as the attendants watched precious treasures emerge.

Ch. 279Zhang San and Li Si, Smiling Like Two Flowers

Su Fei divided most of Great Xuan's state gifts among Zhang San and Li Si before arriving in the Fusang Kingdom. After seeing the poor port and meeting the arrogant reception envoy Inoue Yuichi, Su Fei followed him toward the capital for the upcoming Celestial Person ceremony.

  • Su Fei picked through the gifts intended for Fusang and gave the finest treasures to Zhang San and Li Si, leaving inferior items to be packed as state gifts.
  • After a voyage of more than a dozen days, Su Fei and his party reached a shabby Fusang port and mocked the kingdom's boats and harbor.
  • Su Fei disembarked with Zhang San, Li Si, and the attendants, while servants unloaded the remaining gifts.
  • Inoue Yuichi introduced himself as Fusang's reception envoy and claimed that Takeda Tokumasa's breakthrough made Fusang a foremost power entitled to deal with Great Xuan as an equal.
  • Su Fei accepted Inoue Yuichi's offer to lead the delegation to the capital and followed him through the town, where he observed the commoners' meager clothing and gaunt appearance.

Ch. 280Sights and sounds of the Fusang Kingdom's imperial capital

Su Fei and his guards settled into the Fusang Kingdom's guest lodge, then toured the capital and inspected its streets, food, and customs with disdain. Their walk was interrupted when several armed Fusang riders galloped recklessly through the crowd.

  • Su Fei and Zhang San judged the capital poor and doubted Takeda Tokumasa's strength before Inoue Yuichi showed them to the guest lodge.
  • Su Fei ordered Zhang San and Li Si to find cleaner rooms and guard the gifts around the clock.
  • After the guards secured the lodge, Su Fei took them out to explore the capital's markets and streets.
  • Su Fei sampled a rice cake from an elderly vendor and found it coarse and overly sweet.
  • Su Fei and his guards watched a local sacrificial ritual, which Su Fei dismissed as a barbarian rite.
  • Several armed Fusang warriors rode through the street, forcing commoners aside and knocking some down.

Ch. 281Great Yan's Princess Ji Yuyan

Su Fei stopped a Fusang warrior from attacking him and intimidated the rest before returning to the guesthouse. There, he learned that Great Yan had sent Princess Ji Yuyan to marry Ancestor Takeda in hopes of securing Fusang’s protection.

  • A Fusang warrior lashed his whip at Su Fei, but Su Fei caught and broke it.
  • When the warrior drew his sword, Su Fei slapped him down, then used his martial aura to force the other warriors to their knees.
  • Su Fei left with Zhang San and Li Si and returned to the guesthouse area, where they saw Inoue Yuichi receiving a group from Great Yan.
  • Zhang San and Li Si learned that the woman in red was Princess Ji Yuyan, sent to marry Ancestor Takeda.
  • Zhang San explained that Great Yan sought an alliance because it had lost territory and lacked a Celestial Person Realm ancestor, while Li Si said Ji Yuyan was cherished and skilled in the arts.

Ch. 282An invitation to a gathering

Su Fei watched Great Yan send Princess Ji Yuyan to Fusang for a marriage alliance, then considered the other nations’ response to Fusang’s new Celestial Person ancestor. After receiving Helian Qingfeng’s invitation to discuss the upcoming ceremony, Su Fei attended the gathering at Pine Wind Hall, where Helian Qingfeng warmly approached him and denied bearing a grudge over Helian Haotong’s death.

  • Su Fei left after seeing Great Yan’s envoys escort Princess Ji Yuyan to Fusang, while Zhang San and Li Si criticized Great Yan’s decision.
  • Ji Yuyan arrived at her guesthouse, mourned her loss of control over her fate, and wept despite her maid’s attempts to comfort her.
  • Envoys from the Chu Kingdom and the Barbarian Tribe reached the Fusang capital without bringing women for a marriage alliance.
  • Helian Qingfeng invited the Great Xuan, Barbarian Tribe, and Yan Kingdom envoys to Pine Wind Hall to discuss how to respond to Fusang’s Celestial Person ceremony.
  • Su Fei went to the gathering with Zhang San and Li Si, where Helian Qingfeng greeted him and said he held no grudge over Su Fei killing Helian Haotong.

Ch. 283A proposal to join forces

Su Fei agreed to a limited, temporary alliance with the other kingdoms' envoys to face Fusang's Celestial Person Grand Ceremony, while keeping his own strength and intentions hidden. The next day, Princess Ji Yuyan vanished, and the panicked Yan envoy rushed to Su Fei for help.

  • Helian Qingfeng proposed that the envoys cooperate against harassment by Fusang, and Su Fei agreed only to that limited purpose.
  • The envoys reached a preliminary agreement to support one another during the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony, while Su Fei judged each man’s motives and concealed his cultivation.
  • On the way back, Su Fei told Li Si that the alliance was merely a temporary arrangement and that they would rely on their own abilities if trouble arose.
  • The next day, Zhang San reported that Princess Ji Yuyan had gone missing from the guesthouse district.
  • The Yan envoy arrived at Su Fei’s door in a panic after the princess disappeared.

Ch. 284Missing!

Princess Yuyan of the Yan Kingdom disappeared from her guesthouse, and Su Fei, Helian Qingfeng, and the Barbarian Tribe's Fifth Elder investigated the scene. They agreed to seek help from Inoue Yuichi while secretly searching, then arrived at the reception office as suspicions and political tensions grew.

  • The Yan Kingdom envoy told Su Fei that Princess Yuyan had vanished after leaving her room, and that her guards had been knocked unconscious.
  • Su Fei examined the guesthouse courtyard and concluded that at least two skilled abductors had deliberately obscured their tracks.
  • Helian Qingfeng and the Barbarian Tribe's Fifth Elder proposed pressuring Inoue Yuichi to organize a search while sending attendants to look for clues.
  • Su Fei agreed, ordered Zhang San and Li Si to search nearby, and joined the others in going to the Fusang Kingdom's reception office.
  • On the way, Helian Qingfeng suggested the Barbarian Tribe might have abducted the princess, but Su Fei suspected he was trying to sow discord.
  • The group found Inoue Yuichi at the reception office, where he looked surprised to see envoys from several nations arrive together.

Ch. 285Detention

After the Yan Kingdom's princess disappeared, Inoue Yuichi reported the incident and was ordered to confine the foreign envoys while the Fusang Kingdom searched. Su Fei persuaded Inoue to let him investigate, while Helian Qingfeng and the barbarians' fifth elder were denied permission to leave.

  • The Yan Kingdom's envoy told Inoue Yuichi that the princess had vanished and demanded that the Fusang Kingdom search for her.
  • Inoue Yuichi reported the disappearance and returned with orders to mobilize the capital's forces while confining the envoys as suspects.
  • Helian Qingfeng and the barbarians' fifth elder protested the confinement, but both restrained their anger because they were in a foreign country.
  • Su Fei invoked his Imperial Guard experience and persuaded Inoue Yuichi to let him move freely and search for the princess.
  • Helian Qingfeng and the barbarians' fifth elder asked to join the search, but Inoue Yuichi insulted them and refused.

Ch. 286Searching for Clues!

After being released from the government office, Su Fei investigated Princess Ji Yuyan’s disappearance to protect his system quest and searched the Yan Kingdom’s lodge for evidence. He discovered faint, unfamiliar traces and footprints on the roof tiles, giving him his first concrete lead.

  • Inoue Yuichi released Su Fei, while Helian Qingfeng and the Barbarian Tribe's fifth elder remained under surveillance.
  • Zhang San and Li Si reported that their search had found no sign of Princess Ji Yuyan or witnesses.
  • Su Fei reviewed the circumstances of Ji Yuyan’s disappearance and went to the Yan Kingdom’s lodge to investigate the scene.
  • Su Fei sensed a condensed, unfamiliar aura and used the God-tier Insight Technique to examine the courtyard.
  • Su Fei found faint footprints on the eastern side-room eaves and identified them as the prints of an adult man.

Ch. 287Martial Saint Tianhai!

Su Fei investigated the attacker who abducted the Yan Kingdom’s princess and traced a piece of ink silkworm silk to robes bought for Martial Saint Tianhai’s disciples. He left the clothing shop with Tianhai’s household as his next lead.

  • Su Fei studied the roof footprints and found that the attacker was likely a left-handed martial artist skilled in lightness arts.
  • Su Fei found a scrap of ink silkworm silk and told the Yan Kingdom’s envoy that he would follow the fabric and martial artist clues to locate the princess.
  • Su Fei sent Zhang San, Li Si, and the interpreter to search fabric shops in the capital for ink silkworm silk.
  • After visiting many shops, Su Fei and his companions found the Splendid Brocade Workshop, whose shopkeeper recognized the thread.
  • The shopkeeper said Martial Saint Tianhai’s steward had ordered ten ink silkworm silk robes for Tianhai’s disciples three months earlier.

Ch. 288Go take a look at Martial Saint Tianhai's residence

Su Fei and his companions traced the princess’s possible abduction to Martial Saint Tianhai’s disciples and went to investigate his residence on Moon Mountain. When the guards barred their way, Su Fei destroyed the villa’s gate with a single palm strike and entered with Zhang San and Li Si.

  • Su Fei learned from the shopkeeper that Martial Saint Tianhai’s ten Grandmaster disciples had ordered robes and might have been involved in the abduction.
  • Su Fei, Zhang San, and Li Si traveled to Moon Mountain to inspect Martial Saint Tianhai’s residence.
  • The villa guards stopped the three men and threatened them, prompting Zhang San and Li Si to hesitate before using force.
  • Su Fei urged his companions to stand firm as Great Xuan’s Imperial Guards, then smashed the villa’s gate with Buddha’s Palm.
  • The guards begged for mercy, and Su Fei, Zhang San, and Li Si walked into the villa.

Ch. 289Oka-what-da, was it?

Su Fei stormed into Heavenly Sea Mountain Villa and subdued Okada Congyun and the other disciples with Buddha's Palm while searching for Ji Yuyan. The disciples denied abducting the Yan Kingdom's princess, leaving Su Fei without an answer about where she was.

  • Su Fei sensed the villa's martial artists and waited with Zhang San and Li Si, suspecting that Ji Yuyan might be inside.
  • Okada Congyun arrived with junior disciples and servants, angrily demanding to know why Su Fei had destroyed the gates.
  • Su Fei used Buddha's Palm, second form, to trap Okada Congyun and the disciples in the Golden Summit Buddha Lamp's Buddhist-light domain.
  • Su Fei burned the villa servants with Buddhist fire and threatened Okada Congyun into answering his questions.
  • Su Fei asked whether Okada Congyun had abducted Ji Yuyan, but Okada Congyun and the other disciples denied knowing or seeing the princess.

Ch. 290The questioning began (thanks to reader Enthusiasm for the gifts!)

Su Fei questioned Heavenly Sea Mountain Villa's disciples about the disappearance of Yan Kingdom's princess, Ji Yuyan, and learned that several disciples wearing the distinctive robes were still unaccounted for. Martial Saint Tianhai arrived to confront him, but Su Fei's Golden Summit Buddha Lamp forced Tianhai and three disciples to their knees; the disciples denied knowing anything about the princess.

  • Su Fei used his insight to determine that Okada Congyun and the other restrained disciples were telling the truth about not knowing where Ji Yuyan was.
  • Okada Congyun explained that only ten sets of ink silkworm silk robes had been made for the villa's disciples and identified three disciples in the inner courtyard and Sanada, who was away visiting his family.
  • Martial Saint Tianhai arrived with Sato, Yamada, and Matsumoto and demanded that Su Fei release his disciples and explain the damage to the villa's gate.
  • Su Fei unleashed the Golden Summit Buddha Lamp's Buddhist light, overwhelming Tianhai and the three disciples and forcing them to kneel.
  • Su Fei questioned Sato, Yamada, and Matsumoto about Ji Yuyan, and Sato said they had stayed in the inner courtyard attending to Tianhai and knew nothing about the princess.

Ch. 291Sanada Hiroichi

Su Fei traced the Yan Kingdom princess’s disappearance to Sanada Hiroichi and found him holding Ji Yuyan captive in Wildfield Village. Sanada admitted he had expected Su Fei to find him and blamed Takeda Tokumasa for his predicament.

  • Su Fei ruled out the other Heavenly Sea Mountain Villa disciples and concluded Sanada Hiroichi had abducted the princess using an excuse to leave the villa.
  • Su Fei sealed the villa’s residents’ true essence, ordered Zhang San and Li Si to guard them, and hurried to Wildfield Village.
  • Su Fei found Sanada Hiroichi in a courtyard with the bound Ji Yuyan and confirmed she was frightened but unharmed.
  • Sanada Hiroichi calmly acknowledged Su Fei had tracked him down, then expressed deep hatred toward Takeda Tokumasa.

Ch. 292A clichéd story (thanks for the gifts, readers!)

Sanada Hiroichi explained that he had abducted Ji Yuyan to ruin Takeda Tokumasa’s ceremony and take revenge, but Su Fei defeated and captured him. Su Fei freed Ji Yuyan and ordered Zhang San and Li Si to escort her to safety.

  • Sanada Hiroichi recounted how Takeda Tokumasa abducted Sachiko, how she died, and how he trained for ten years seeking revenge.
  • Sanada Hiroichi admitted that he abducted Ji Yuyan to expose Takeda Tokumasa and disgrace the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony.
  • Su Fei condemned Sanada Hiroichi for using Ji Yuyan as a pawn and endangering innocent people and relations between nations.
  • Sanada Hiroichi attacked Su Fei, but Su Fei repelled his sword and incapacitated him with a palm strike.
  • Su Fei freed Ji Yuyan, sealed Sanada Hiroichi’s true essence, and ordered Zhang San and Li Si to escort the princess to safety.

Ch. 293Return

Su Fei returned Princess Ji Yuyan safely to the reception compound and brought her abductor, Sanada Hiroichi, before the gathered envoys. After Su Fei explained the motive behind the kidnapping, the others praised his work and reconsidered their views of Great Xuan.

  • Su Fei arrived at the reception compound with Zhang San and Li Si escorting Sanada Hiroichi, while Princess Ji Yuyan returned safely with a maid.
  • The Yan Kingdom's envoy welcomed Ji Yuyan, and Inoue Yuichi expressed astonishment that Su Fei had found her and captured the culprit in little over a day.
  • Su Fei identified Sanada Hiroichi and explained how the kidnapping stemmed from his revenge against Takeda Tokumasa and a plan to disrupt the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony.
  • The Yan Kingdom's envoy and Inoue Yuichi thanked Su Fei, while Inoue ordered Sanada Hiroichi taken into strict custody.
  • Helian Qingfeng admired Su Fei but regretted that he served Great Xuan, and the Barbarian Tribe's fifth elder reconsidered the wisdom of opposing Great Xuan.

Ch. 294Seeing Everyone Safely Back

After Su Fei solved the Yan Kingdom princess's disappearance, Inoue Yuichi lifted the envoys' confinement and escorted them back to the honored guests' lodge. As the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony approached, Helian Qingfeng and the Barbarian Tribe's Fifth Elder reconsidered their views of Great Xuan, while Su Fei remained alert for trouble.

  • Inoue Yuichi thanked Su Fei, lifted the confinement order, and arranged guarded carriages to return the envoys to the lodge.
  • Helian Qingfeng reflected on Su Fei's talent and worried that Great Xuan would be harder for Great Chu to challenge.
  • The Barbarian Tribe's Fifth Elder reconsidered whether his tribe could afford an all-out war against Great Xuan.
  • Su Fei returned to the lodge, settled in, and kept watch for undercurrents ahead of the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony.
  • Su Fei meditated while Zhang San and Li Si guarded him, and the Yan Kingdom envoy visited to ask discreetly about the ceremony.

Ch. 295Bathing

Su Fei and the foreign envoys traveled to Fusang’s Sacred Mountain to witness the Celestial Person Grand Ceremony. After agreeing to Fusang’s purification custom, they bathed in a hot spring while Su Fei secretly monitored the area, and Inoue Yuichi returned as their hour of bathing ended.

  • Inoue Yuichi invited the envoys to the ceremony and explained that each country could send only three people up the mountain.
  • Su Fei chose Zhang San and Li Si to accompany him, and the group rode east to the Sacred Mountain.
  • Inoue Yuichi required the foreign envoys to bathe before ascending, and Su Fei agreed to follow Fusang’s custom.
  • The envoys bathed together; Su Fei spread his soul power to monitor the bathhouse and the surrounding mountain.
  • The Barbarian Tribe’s Fifth Elder complained about the rules, while Su Fei urged him to respect Fusang’s traditions.
  • After nearly an hour, Inoue Yuichi returned as Su Fei and the others finished bathing and dressed.

Ch. 296Ascending the Mountain (Thanks for the Gifts, Readers!)

Su Fei and the envoys climbed the Sacred Mountain to attend the Fusang Kingdom’s Celestial Person Grand Ceremony, where they found Takeda Tokumasa and the Yan Kingdom’s princess, Ji Yuyan, seated together on the platform. The ceremony began with Inoue Yuichi recounting Takeda’s martial history.

  • Inoue Yuichi led Su Fei and the envoys up the mountain while Su Fei sensed hidden Fusang martial artists guarding the path.
  • Su Fei and his companions reached the summit and saw Takeda Tokumasa seated beside Ji Yuyan in bridal attire.
  • The Yan Kingdom’s envoy concealed his embarrassment at seeing Ji Yuyan on the platform.

  • Inoue Yuichi began recounting Takeda Tokumasa’s martial achievements, including his rise to the grandmaster realm and mastery of Cherry Blossom Style Saber Art.

Ch. 297Somewhat lacking in sincerity

At Takeda Tokumasa’s Celestial Person ceremony, Inoue Yuichi praised his long cultivation and guests received gifts from Fusang. Takeda then revealed that Princess Yuyan had been sent by the Yan Kingdom for a marriage alliance and demanded to know why the other kingdoms had not brought princesses.

  • Inoue Yuichi recounted Takeda Tokumasa’s cultivation and breakthrough to the Celestial Person Realm, drawing praise from the guests while Su Fei privately doubted his supposed diligence.
  • Fusang attendants presented the guests with jade pendants, Cherry Blossom Dew, and translated copies of Takeda Tokumasa’s early fist manual.
  • Takeda Tokumasa seized Ji Yuyan’s wrist and pulled her up beside him despite her resistance.
  • Takeda Tokumasa introduced Ji Yuyan as the Yan Kingdom’s princess, sent to marry him, and praised the Yan Kingdom for its sincerity.
  • Takeda Tokumasa accused the envoys of Great Xuan, the Chu Kingdom, and the Barbarian Tribe of lacking sincerity because they had brought no princesses, then released his Celestial Person pressure.

Ch. 298Everyone's shock! (Thanks for the gifts, readers!)

Su Fei resisted Takeda Tokumasa’s Celestial Person pressure while Helian Qingfeng and the Barbarian Tribe’s fifth elder were forced to kneel. When Yamamoto Kazuo challenged him, Su Fei revealed that he was also a Celestial Person Realm martial artist, stunning everyone at the Sacred Mountain.

  • Takeda Tokumasa’s pressure forced Helian Qingfeng and the Barbarian Tribe’s fifth elder to kneel, but Su Fei remained seated and unaffected.
  • Takeda Tokumasa and the gathered envoys were surprised that Su Fei resisted the pressure, while Inoue Yuichi warned that he had offended the ancestor.
  • Yamamoto Kazuo accused Su Fei of defying Takeda Tokumasa and challenged him to a fight, drawing support from the Fusang nobles.
  • Su Fei rose into the air and released a Celestial Person Realm aura that dispersed Takeda Tokumasa’s pressure and enveloped the summit.
  • Helian Qingfeng, the Barbarian Tribe’s fifth elder, and the Yan Kingdom envoy were shocked when they realized Su Fei was a Celestial Person Realm martial artist.

Ch. 299The fallen Celestial Person Realm ancestor!

  • Su Fei's Celestial Person pressure forced Yamamoto Kazuo to kneel, and Su Fei told him he was unworthy to challenge him.
  • Su Fei challenged Takeda Tokumasa, who released Ji Yuyan and rose into the air to face him.
  • Su Fei decided to use his full power and unleashed the sixth form of Buddha's Palm, Buddha's Light Shines Everywhere.
  • Takeda Tokumasa's Cherry Blossom Style Saber Art was swallowed by the golden Buddha's light, which burned him to ash.
  • The Buddha's light faded, leaving everyone on the summit staring at Su Fei in stunned silence.
