Ch. 142The Shadow of the Demon

Roy traveled with Sailen and Yanila to the Wuzhu Tribe’s territory to investigate Kailon’s alleged conspiracy, where an informant revealed wood bearing traces of an Abyssal Demon. The discovery left Roy facing evidence of a power beyond ordinary magical radiation.

  • Roy chose Sailen and Yanila to accompany him while keeping his plans secret from Athedia.
  • Roy and his companions traveled to the southern frontier, where Yanila described Great Chieftain Kailon’s rise and ambition to unite the tribes.
  • Roy, Sailen, and Yanila reached the Wuzhu Tribe’s territory and contacted Roy’s informant with an Arcane Bone Whistle.
  • Roy gave the middle-aged centaur informant a Healing Potion in exchange for information and a piece of deadwood.
  • Roy sensed that the deadwood bore traces left by an Abyssal Demon.

Ch. 143Beyond the World

Roy investigated a valley where the Wuzhu Tribe had sacrificed demons and found signs that Abyssal Demons had entered the world through a planar gate. On the way back, Roy, Yanila, and Sailen were pursued by Black Armor knights who revealed themselves to be magma-bodied monsters.

  • Roy learned that Kailon had taught the Wuzhu Tribe a secret ritual for sacrificing demons and suspected the chief's strength exceeded what Yanila had believed.
  • Roy, Yanila, and Sailen traveled to the informant's valley, where Roy found demonic contamination and collected samples as evidence.
  • A Black Armor cavalry unit arrived at the valley, discovered signs of visitors, and sent its leader and five riders after Roy's group.
  • The Black Knights caught up with Roy, Yanila, and Sailen and attacked, believing them to be Wizard Apprentices who might spread news of the valley.
  • Roy killed one attacker with lightning and damaged another with his hair, while Yanila discovered that the knights' bodies were made of scalding magma and that a supposedly dead monster had risen again.

Ch. 144Soul-Binding Demonic Armor

Roy and his companions defeated a group of Soul-Binding Demonic Armors and learned that the armors were powered by the torment of bound centaur souls. After returning to Frosv, Roy was offered 10,000 magic stones for the armors and chose to spend them on Star Iron Ore to make a weapon.

  • Roy, Yanila, and Sailen fought the Black Knights, whose bodies were animated by lava, and defeated them by piercing their armor.
  • Roy identified the fallen knights as Soul-Binding Demonic Armors and discovered they could be stored in his Space Ring but contaminated their surroundings.
  • Three days later, Roy returned to the quarry and reported to Frosv, who said Kailon might suspect that his plan had been exposed.
  • Frosv explained that the armors were powered by the suffering of bound centaur souls and offered Roy 10,000 magic stones to buy them back.
  • Roy kept one armor hidden and asked Frosv to use the payment to buy Star Iron Ore so he could make an Animate Chain-like weapon.

Ch. 145Crafting a Weapon

Roy planned to forge a Star Iron Chain Spear with a Radiant Gold spearhead, combining Activation, an Aether Stone mechanism, and poison delivery. He completed the spearhead and named it Black Mamba, but still needed to finish the weapon and address its planned fire enchantment.

  • Roy decided to forge a Star Iron Chain Spear and discussed its materials and design with Frosv, who suggested a Radiant Gold spearhead, an Aether Stone reel mechanism, and exploring Spell Persistence.
  • Roy prepared designs for the chain spear and realized he had not mastered Elemental Enchantment, so he considered finding someone to help with that part.
  • Roy expanded the design to include a poison sac that could inject Blackening Potion and studied Aether Stone as preparation for opening Melina's Space Ring.
  • A month later, Roy forged a Radiant Gold spearhead with an embedded Aether Stone fragment divided into twenty-four potion tubes.
  • Roy named the completed spearhead Black Mamba.

Ch. 146Star Iron Chain Spear

Roy commissioned Kundis to enchant his Star Iron Chain Spear, Black Mamba, and added a detachable socket for the Thunder Demon Eye. The finished weapon carried both Fire and Lightning enchantments, giving Roy his first proper weapon as a Formal Wizard.

  • Roy completed Black Mamba, a ten-meter Star Iron chain spear with an Aether Stone line dispenser, and Athedia told him that Kundis had arrived.
  • Roy showed Kundis the spear, agreed to pay 20,000 magic stones for the enchantment, and watched him begin work with a Fire Elemental Gem.
  • When Kundis explained that Star Iron could also carry Lightning damage, Roy presented his Thunder Demon Eye and asked him to install a detachable socket for it.
  • Kundis spent several days enchanting the weapon and sharing guidance about Elemental Enchantment while Roy observed and asked questions.
  • A week later, Roy paid Kundis an additional 3,000 magic stones for the Lightning Enchantment and examined the completed Star Iron Chain Spear, which carried both Fire and Lightning auras.

Ch. 147War Mission

Roy tested his new chain spear while clearing a bandit den, then returned to the quarry and calmed a rampaging Boar Golem. His teacher issued a war mission after the Bloodhoof Tribe’s army threatened Scatu City.

  • Roy, Sailen, and Yanila attacked a bandit-occupied logging camp, and Roy used his new chain spear to defeat the bandits.
  • Roy’s group found looted grain and military supplies at the camp, but Roy chose not to investigate their origins.
  • Roy returned to the quarry and stopped the Boar Golem after it rampaged in response to Autoly roasting a pig nearby.
  • Roy explained the golem’s flawed friend-or-foe identification and considered experimenting with Composite Souls and Simulated Souls.
  • Roy’s teacher appeared through the Communication Crystal and ordered him to resolve the Bloodhoof Tribe’s attack on Scatu City for a reward of fifty thousand magic stones.

Ch. 148Convert's Zeal

Roy rejected Scatu City's request for protection and prepared to confront the invading centaur army. He charged toward the enemy command standard with Athedia as the siege began, while the centaurs focused their attack on him.

  • Roy gathered his team for the War Mission, warned them to travel in groups and avoid the Black Knights, then chose to attack the centaur army alone with Athedia accompanying him.
  • Roy learned that Athedia's loyalty to the Wizarding World came from her rise from poverty after being chosen for the Guard Squad.
  • The centaur army reached Scatu City, and the city's lord and nobles despaired as the siege began.
  • Roy ordered Athedia to charge toward the enemy standard, where Marcel, son of Great Chieftain Kailon and brother of Kaiser, sent elite riders and volleys of arrows against them.
  • Roy and Athedia charged through the arrows, relying on their enchanted armor to withstand the attacks.

Ch. 149A Weed-Clearing Weapon

Roy used his newly refined Star Iron Chain Spear to tear through the Bloodhoof Tribe’s forces and reach Marcel’s command banner. After Marcel sent Soul-Binding Demonic Armor Black Knights against him, Roy killed one with a lightning-charged strike and fatally pierced Marcel.

  • Roy rode Athedia through the Bloodhoof Tribe’s formation, killing riders with his chain spear as the City Lord recognized him and announced that he could save them.
  • Marcel sent centurions to investigate Roy, but Roy fought his way to the command banner and killed officers with his spear and Blackening Potion.
  • Roy tested the Star Iron Chain Spear’s electric conduction, and the Bloodhoof soldiers began to lose morale as they realized he was a Formal Wizard.
  • Marcel ordered ten Soul-Binding Demonic Armor Black Knights to attack Roy, and Roy destroyed one with a lightning-charged spear thrust.
  • Roy charged Marcel and pierced him through beneath the command banner.

Ch. 150Treasures Seized

Roy and his allies routed the Bloodhoof Tribe’s cavalry and seized valuable armor, enchanted gold, and magical materials. They discovered a silk-wrapped stone in a treasured chest, leaving its nature unrevealed.

  • Athedia cut down the commander's flag, and Roy killed the last Black Knights as the Bloodhoof cavalry broke and fled.
  • Yanila, Sailen, Andov, Winter, and the others attacked the fleeing forces with spells and alchemical bombs.
  • Roy inspected the captured Black Knight armor and supplies, then collected thousands of enchanted gold pieces and valuable magical materials.
  • Roy distributed materials and enchanted gold among the participating apprentices, keeping their promised mission rewards separate.
  • Roy looked inside another chest and saw a stone mostly wrapped in colorful silk, which the centaurs had placed on a golden plate.

Ch. 151The Totem Stone

Roy discovered that the Bloodhoof Tribe’s Totem Stone held spiritual power and decided to keep it while reporting other spoils to Frosv. Frosv announced plans to destroy the tribe in a Wizard Rank mission, and Roy later rewarded Athedia with armor that fit her perfectly.

  • Roy identified the stone as a Bloodhoof Tribe Branch Totem Stone imbued with spiritual power from Gilizaro, the Sacred Mountain.
  • Roy decided to keep the Totem Stone, bind Marcel’s essence blood and soul for his Golem Creation research, and trade other spoils for supplies.
  • Frosv praised Roy’s work and revealed that he planned to destroy the Bloodhoof Tribe, assigning Roy to the coming Wizard Rank mission with several other wizards.
  • Athedia brought Roy the apprentices’ exchange requests, and Roy gave her a set of Silver Battle Armor as a reward.
  • Athedia returned wearing the armor, and Roy said it fit perfectly.

Ch. 152Digesting the Spoils

Roy turned the spoils of war into equipment and resources for himself and the apprentices, while advancing his crafting and golem-making projects. After more than a month, the Alchemy Cauldron had finally begun transforming the captured Totem Stone.

  • Roy gave Athedia new battle armor and promised to make her horse armor and enchanted equipment later.
  • Roy reviewed the apprentices’ requests, decided whom to cultivate, and assigned Damo to help produce materials for battle armor.
  • Roy forged an enchanted star-iron sword and gave it to Sailen before preparing more weapons for the apprentices.
  • Roy and Stowson completed a golem using Marcel’s captured soul, then sent it to guard the quarry entrance alongside Kaiser.
  • Roy checked the Alchemy Cauldron and saw that the Totem Stone had begun to change after more than a month of processing.

Ch. 153Potions and Snakes

Roy refined Sacred Mountain’s Blessing from Belief Crystals and drank it, causing his spiritual power to grow during deep meditation. The resulting magical radiation killed his Cauliflower Snake, but he transferred its lingering soul into Black Mamba, turning the weapon into an alternative Alchemical Life.

  • Roy used his alchemical tools to extract Belief Crystals from heated Totem Stone and made Sacred Mountain’s Blessing.
  • Roy drank the potion and entered a profound meditation as his Source of Magic Power and spirit strengthened.
  • The Cauliflower Snake died after being exposed to Roy’s magical radiation.
  • Roy discovered the snake’s Soul Fire remained and used Equivalent Exchange to transfer its soul into Black Mamba.
  • Black Mamba animated like a living snake after receiving the Cauliflower Snake’s soul.

Ch. 154Mental Power Soared

Roy struggled to control his growing magical radiation by modifying his Silver Battle Armor to absorb it, while his Spiritual Power climbed to 16 degrees. At the end of March, he and his companions joined Tinas, Besian, and Doni near the Bloodhoof Tribe to prepare for their attack.

  • Roy realized his unstable magic power could harm nearby creatures, so he adjusted his Artificial Skin to absorb the radiation and reduce its effects.
  • Over six days, Roy's Spiritual Power rose to 16 degrees as he continued to process the Artificial Skin and absorb the potion's magic power.
  • Frosv contacted Roy and told him to meet at the end of the month to destroy the Bloodhoof Tribe.
  • Roy promised his excited companions that rewards from the attack would be distributed according to merit.
  • On March 30, Roy and his group met Tinas, Besian, and Doni near the Bloodhoof Tribe, where their respective followers gathered.

Ch. 155The Demon Trap

Roy joined Tinas, Besian, and Doni on a mission to attack the Bloodhoof Tribe, while the veteran wizards questioned his strength. As they assaulted the centaurs, a summoning array brought Quasits from the Abyss into the battle.

  • Besian and Doni resented Roy's assignment and proposed killing Kailon and wiping out the Bloodhoof Tribe's ordinary members.
  • The wizards traveled toward the tribe's royal tent while Roy rode Athedia on the ground, and he promised to help her improve.
  • The Bloodhoof centaurs spotted the group and sounded horns and drums to prepare for battle.
  • Besian used his Harpy bloodline transformation, while Doni launched explosive and poisonous missiles from his construct, devastating the centaurs.
  • A huge black Magic Array appeared and summoned Quasits, which charged at the wizards in a suicidal attack.

Ch. 156Key to Breaking the Deadlock

Bloodhoof Kailon summoned a vast demon army and hundreds of Black Knights to attack the wizards and their followers. Roy cut through the enemy lines and charged toward Kailon, emerging as the key to breaking the battle’s deadlock.

  • Tinas, Besian, and Doni fought off waves of demons as new portals brought in powerful Flumos.
  • Kailon revealed that he had summoned the Abyssal army to drive the wizards from centaur lands, offering his own Life and Soul as the price.
  • Hundreds of Black Knights joined the battle, while the demons inflicted heavy casualties on the wizards’ followers.
  • Roy ordered Andov and Damo to adapt to the battle, then rode Athedia into the melee and carved a path through the Black Knights.
  • Roy redirected his charge toward Kailon, killing demons and evading the centaurs’ attacks as he approached the Great Chieftain.

Ch. 157Native Hero

Roy fought the centaur Great Chieftain Kailon while toxic alchemical potions threw the Bloodhoof Tribe’s forces into chaos. Kailon broke through Soul Sublimation into Wizard Rank, leaving Roy’s allies worried about the newly advanced Wizard, but Roy’s attack soon unraveled the enemy formation.

  • Roy cast Black Mist Technique and used Blackening Potion and Orchard's Bane Potion, poisoning the centaurs and driving many of them to attack one another.
  • Roy reached Kailon after killing two Black Knights, and he and Athedia fought the chieftain and his guards.
  • Kailon wrapped himself in strange black fire and broke through Soul Sublimation, reaching about fifteen degrees of Life Energy and Wizard Rank.
  • Tinas, Besian, and Doni feared Roy might lose to Kailon, but they struggled to escape the enemy formation and help him.
  • Besian and Doni saw that the enemy formation had fallen into complete disorder, and they realized Roy had won.

Ch. 158Legendary Destiny

Roy defeated and killed Great Chieftain Kailon, then captured the Destiny Seed that emerged from his corpse and discovered a new Destiny Refinement ability. He sensed Netherland’s will crying beneath the chains enclosing the world.

  • Roy overwhelmed Kailon with his Life Energy and pierced him with his chain spear, extinguishing his Life Fire.
  • Centaurs and guards reacted to Kailon’s death as Roy drove back those who approached his corpse.
  • Roy noticed a strange power rising from Kailon and saw the panel begin Alchemy Talent Acquisition, but he could not identify the substance as Alchemy Source Material.
  • Roy discovered that his Nautilus Astral Disc had gained a new star representing Destiny Refinement and realized he had captured Kailon’s Destiny Seed.
  • Roy sensed Netherland’s immature will crying as enormous chains surrounded the planet and locked its pale light within.

Ch. 159Rewards According to Merit

Roy helped defeat the demons and the Bloodhoof Tribe, then received praise and a large reward from Frosv. He chose to keep Kailon's Remnant Soul to refine a golem and exchanged the dragon scales for magic stones.

  • Roy took Kailon's corpse and searched the battlefield spoils, finding storage bags filled with treasures, including Gold Dragon Scales.
  • Tinas, Besian, Doni, and Roy finished defeating the demons and gathered to report the mission to Frosv.
  • Frosv praised Roy's performance and arranged to distribute the mission rewards according to merit.
  • Roy asked to keep Kailon's Remnant Soul for refining a golem and gave Frosv the dragon scales to avoid attracting dragons' hostility.
  • Frosv valued Roy's spoils and awarded him two hundred and fifty thousand magic stones, bringing his savings to more than four hundred thousand.

Ch. 160Luck's Favor

Roy refined Kailon’s Destiny into a Bronze-grade Alchemy Talent called Luck’s Favor, which could twist certain failed alchemical operations back toward success. After testing the ability, he joined Tinas to divide the Bloodhoof Tribe’s lands, where she proposed granting Roy’s share as a fief to Yanila and the Bloodmane Tribe.

  • Roy extracted materials from the fallen centaurs and secretly used Destiny Refinement to turn Kailon’s Destiny into the Luck’s Favor talent.
  • Roy tested Luck’s Favor and learned that its target formula and operation had to be clearly defined for the ability to affect a failed refinement.
  • Athedia summoned Roy to meet Tinas, who was distributing the Bloodhoof Tribe’s remaining lands and resources.
  • Tinas said she would let one of Kailon’s daughters inherit the Bloodhoof Tribe’s name and proposed that Roy grant his portion of the territory as a fief to Yanila and the Bloodmane Tribe.

Ch. 161Gem Synthesis

Roy helped divide the Bloodhoof Tribe’s territory, then bought elemental gem materials to investigate Gem Synthesis. He realized his new Luck’s Favor talent might improve the odds of producing valuable gems, and set out to test it.

  • Roy and Tinas divided the former Bloodhoof Tribe territory, and Roy learned that Kailon’s rise had destroyed more than a hundred tribes.
  • Roy found that the seized Totem Stones were ordinary rocks and learned that the Bloodhoof Tribe’s royal Totem Stone was missing.
  • Besian offered Elemental Gem Dust and fragments at a trade fair, and Roy bought several chests to study Gem Synthesis.
  • Besian and Doni explained the diminishing success rates of synthesizing increasingly complete gems, leading Roy to conclude that the process was usually prohibitively expensive.
  • Roy considered using his Bronze-tier Talent Luck’s Favor on Gem Synthesis to improve its chances of success.
