A grayish-blue ocean stretched before them.

Since time immemorial, whirlpools had covered this ocean. The currents brought hurricanes, and waterspouts shot straight into the sky. Mist, raging winds, and gloom made these waters look like the end of the world.

Whirlpools were not the ocean's only danger. Now and then, serpentine figures rolled across its surface, bringing with them a thick, fishy stench.

At that moment, high above the ocean...

Rhein rode a flying vehicle and said quietly, "Now that the Dark Ocean Vortex is under the Naga demons' control, it's much less likely to become a battlefield."

After speaking, Rhein looked toward Sanders, but Sanders gave no response.

Sanders sat with his eyes closed, breathing deep and steady.

Only after a long while did Sanders open his eyes. Strange currents of energy drifted from him.

"Dream magic?" Rhein eyed Sanders suspiciously. "You've kept your eyes closed the whole way just to comprehend Dream Power?"

"I simply didn't want to open my eyes and see this flying vehicle," Sanders said flatly. "Since they were closed anyway, I took the opportunity to contemplate the power of dreams."

Sanders glanced down at their vehicle with open distaste. It was called the Rainbow Eye.

The name sounded ordinary enough, but the vehicle itself was an enormous crystal ball.

That alone might have been tolerable. It earned the name "Rainbow Eye" because streams of seven-colored light swirled at its center. Whenever the crystal ball crossed the sky, those lights trailed behind it like a rainbow, creating a dreamlike sight.

There was nothing wrong with the Rainbow Eye itself. It was fast and even had a rainbow force field. But it was plainly better suited to a witch; two grown men sitting atop it looked utterly out of place.

It made Sanders miss Angel's Gondola
