By Angel's reckoning, with Fafnir's strength, she should have been able to open a spatial passage and leave this stretch of void.
Yet Fafnir's answer to Angel was still a denial.
"Though tearing open a spatial rift is not difficult, I cannot guarantee where a rift opened here would lead." Fafnir shrugged. She was a wind dragon, not a void dragon. Her understanding of space only skimmed the surface.
Though Lasudelan had a passage leading to Niming Lake on the third level of the Abyss, that did not mean this place was truly close to Niming Lake. It was merely that the two were linked by spacetime markers. Thus, no one could say where Fafnir would end up if she tore through the void.
"Then is there any way to leave Lasudelan?"
"Yes." Fafnir pointed underground. "The void beneath Lasudelan connects to the inner layer. Go to the inner layer, then transfer through other passages back to the outer layer. That would work too."
Angel's eyes lit up. He felt this was also an option. Though the inner layer was more dangerous than the outer layer, with Fafnir there, they should be able to make it through.
However, once he learned how long it would take to go to the inner layer and return to the outer layer through other passages, Angel fell silent.
At least two weeks, and that was assuming the journey went smoothly the entire way.
In two weeks, everything would be too late. Besides, with the power of Toby's misfortune, whether they could even emerge from the inner layer of the Abyss was a question in itself.
Angel looked utterly dazed. Why did the lockdown have to happen at a time like this?
