When Hai and Sinafa were fighting nearby, the Greater Demons flew away from the Void Giant Tower and concealed their tracks.
Angel had also spotted those demons from afar. One of the Greater Demons appeared to have the upper body of a richly dressed noblewoman, while beneath the billowing skirt of its lower half writhed countless hideous, terrifying tentacles.
Could it have been Nitotip?
Angel merely described it. He had originally intended to recreate the scene with an illusion, but before he could form it, Canaan gave him a certain answer.
"That's right, it was Nitotip." Canaan nodded, then said hesitantly, "But I heard Nitotip's true form doesn't seem to be an octopus. It is..."
"An Ocean Demon," Fafnir supplied. "Even if it is an Ocean Demon, that does not mean it cannot be an octopus."
Canaan fell silent.
Ocean Demons came in all kinds of forms. Nitotip's true form resembled an octopus, while Canaan's own true form was much like a jellyfish... but that did not mean it was a jellyfish.
Still, Canaan did not dare argue with Fafnir. Octopus it was, then. In any case, they were talking about Nitotip.
"So Nitotip is an Ocean Demon? Then why did it attack you?" Angel looked at Canaan. "Could it be that it thought you, a Half-Blood Demon, had insulted the bloodline of Ocean Demons?"
Not every demon in the Abyss treated the descendants of Half-Blood Demons as intimately as Floating Imps did. The overwhelming majority of demons looked upon Half-Blood Demons with disgust and loathing. If a Half-Blood Demon carried the same bloodline as themselves, it would only make them hate it more.
For example, Angel had previously heard that quite a number of Half-Blood Demons existed within the Undying Brigade. One Grave Knight among them carried the bloodline
