The Shadow Mist Zone was clearly different from the light outside.
Very little light reached within, almost none at all, which was why it formed a dimly lit region so sharply divided from the outside world. Moreover, shadows seemed to sway faintly within it, though no one knew what they were.
Angel listened carefully, yet still heard no sounds from within the Shadow Mist Zone, as if the inside and outside were two entirely separate worlds.
It reminded Angel of another dimension.
"Wasn't it usually like this?" Angel looked toward Canaan.
Canaan nodded. "In the ten years I've been getting by in Lasudelan, nothing like this has ever happened. This is the first time... Could some accident have occurred inside?"
Canaan knew very well that Angel could not possibly know the specifics, so it secretly glanced at Fafnir. Before the illusion had appeared, Fafnir had been watching the show. Perhaps she had long ago noticed something strange about this dim region outside the Void Giant Tower.
Angel also turned his gaze toward Fafnir. He did not truly understand the importance of the matter; it was simply his curiosity at work.
"This change appeared when Nitotip went into the sky to rescue the situation," Fafnir said blandly. "The nearby demons call this dim region the Shadow Mist Zone. It originally spread out from the Void Giant Tower. As for what lies within the Shadow Mist Zone, I do not know. However, many demons have gone in, and none have ever come out..."
Though Fafnir said that, she had actually sent a wisp of wind into the Shadow Mist Zone earlier. Yet the moment that wisp entered, she immediately lost contact with it, as though some force had shackled the wind element.
