Angel had not noticed what was happening outside the door. He was earnestly feeding the demon.
In just a few short minutes, Angel used all manner of poisons, from biological toxins to neurotoxins; he even used highly toxic agents infused with contaminating energy.
Yet the demon before him accepted every offering without hesitation. After consuming all those poisons, not only was it completely unharmed, but... Angel could tell that it particularly liked some of the toxic potions containing energy. Whenever Angel took one out, it would even rush over to snatch it.
Just as Angel was wondering whether this creature's stomach was a furnace that feared no food, poisons included, there came a sudden reversal—the demon apparently had its picky moments too.
Because the demon ate too quickly and Demon Nourishing Meat needed time to regenerate, Angel used other foods to tide it over during the gaps. The demon did not care about the changing varieties of food, and it even displayed great enthusiasm for some of them.
However, when Angel tossed a black lump toward the demon—
Just as before, it swallowed it in one gulp. But in the next second, its eyes abruptly widened. It turned its head and violently retched, the sound shaking the heavens!
At first, Angel was overjoyed, thinking some poison had finally taken effect. But after the demon vomited for ages, what it finally spat out was a black lump that had been corroded by less than half.
The black lump landed on the ground, emitting hissing vapor.
Mixed within it was not only the foul stench of demon saliva, but also the smell of ancient, fermented socks.
Angel looked at that shapeless mass and fell silent.
If he remembered correctly, that black lump should have been... Magic Bread, personally made by him earlier.
