When Angel looked toward the Luminous Green Tree.
The wind inexplicably grew stronger.
The howling wind rang beside his ears, while sparks and dust whipped up by it blurred Grewu's eyes.
In the gale, so fierce he could barely keep his eyes open, Grewu squinted through the slits of his eyelids at the shop owner not far away.
He moved, walking toward the Luminous Green Tree with slow, resolute steps. The flamboyant branches and the faint green backlight outlined a tall, upright figure.
When the wind lifted the shop owner's slightly disheveled golden hair, Grewu somehow seemed to glimpse that majestic figure from before.
Grewu rubbed his eyes and looked again.
Though it was golden hair as well, the shop owner's was not long, clearly different from that person's. Then why had he mistaken them before?
"Could it be that the shop owner's soul has truly been replaced by that person?"
As Grewu muttered silently to himself, Angel had already come within ten meters of the Luminous Green Tree.
Seeing this, Grewu's earlier daze was replaced by an even greater question: What was the shop owner planning to do?
The Luminous Green Tree had been formed from the gathered power of a Great Demon God's True Spirit. The power contained within was enough to overturn seas and sink continents. Though it now appeared to be nothing more than an inconspicuous tree, Grewu believed that if any lifeform in the Abyss had a chance to see it, they would go mad for it.
What Grewu did not know was that many gazes in the Abyss had already turned toward this place. They simply had yet to make a move because of various misgivings and constraints.
