To this day, Angel still did not know what he was thinking. Everything he did utterly defied any logic Angel understood.
Angel was not someone who failed to appreciate kindness. What he felt toward him was, more than anything, gratitude.
Yet beneath those tangled emotions, Angel felt a faint unease deep in his heart.
That unease stemmed from his lack of confidence in himself, his suspicion that human nature did not shrink from evil, and his worry over favors given without asking for anything in return.
