Wodell looked somewhat dejected.

No one understood the mighty power of time better than Wodell. Though, as a transcendent lifeform, Wodell possessed an exceptionally strong memory—even the details of the shifting clouds at the final sunset on Yuantan Continent ten thousand years ago remained crystal clear to him.

Yet what he remembered were only images. The emotions that had once carved themselves into his bones had long since been washed away by the river of time.

Even he was like this, let alone ordinary mortals.

"They may have forgotten, but they can remember again," Angel said softly at that moment.

"Forget it. Back then, he built this statue only in the hope that the survivors of Hangu could take him as a spiritual pillar and endure the long darkness. That era has already passed. Whether they remember now no longer matters." Wodell sighed. "Let's go. The passage is in front of the statue."

Wodell stepped forward and came beneath the statue.

He lightly tapped the dust-covered floor with his staff, and the floor gave off a glow, transforming into a white door laid flat upon the ground.

The door opened, revealing a passage leading down into the basement.

Wodell entered the passage first. Angel cast one deep look at the statue in Prayer Church, then followed.

"The Bone Burial Pit deep within the Dark Land can also lead to the basement, but there are many undead there who cling to their obsessions and refuse to leave. Taking that route would be dangerous." Wodell prattled on about the basement.

At the end of the spiral staircase lay an enormous basement.

Yet when Angel and the others arrived in the basement, their eyes filled with confusion.

The basement was shrouded in dense gray mist, making it impossible to see what lay within.
