"Did you come to the Old Earth Continent to find me?" Jin's words made Angel feel even more perplexed. "How did you know I was on the Old Earth Continent?"
"There are many ways to learn where you are, sir. But every one of them might make you uncomfortable. To keep this misunderstanding from growing, please allow me to keep it confidential for now." Jin gave Angel a half-bow in the refined manner of a noble gentleman.
Angel gave Jin an odd look. He had not expected Jin to so candidly admit that his methods of finding him were less than honorable.
Had it been anyone else, Angel might have thought more highly of them for such candor. But coming from Jin before him, it stirred nothing in him. He felt that this Jin was steeped in a discordance between what he showed and what he truly was.
While quietly scrutinizing Jin, Angel also surveyed the surroundings from the corner of his eye.
This natural cavern had been fitted with several lighting devices, so it was not dim. The cave was vast. Behind Jin lay a bottomless pool, and nearby stood all kinds of experimental apparatus. Most numerous were the glass chambers rising from the ground.
At a glance, there were nearly a hundred glass chambers, stretching out in a grand and imposing array.
There was one glass chamber beside Angel. A hazy layer of white mist coated its walls, obscuring whatever lay within. He could only vaguely make out a black shadow inside.
Angel reached out and wiped it. The mist cleared away, revealing a ghastly pale head within the chamber.
