When Angel had first constructed the Door Model, he had sensed illusion energy taking part in it. Yet when the Door Model first took shape, it had been nothing more than simple spatial displacement, and Angel had assumed it would not be affected by illusion energy.
He had not expected the effect to manifest here.
Calling it an effect was not quite right, either. At least, Angel felt that although spatial energy, special energy, and illusion energy were centered around the special energy, the three had formed an exceptionally perfect balance.
Without the involvement of illusion energy, it might even have lacked that final touch of flavor.
What Angel most wanted to confirm now was what effect illusion energy would produce when it appeared upon the door. Surely the door would not become gaudy because of the illusion? Or perhaps it would create countless illusions around itself?
As Angel let his imagination run wild, the door's outline became ever clearer and more defined.
As the door emerged, Angel could feel a faint bond gradually forming between the special energy in the Door Model within his spell slot and the great door before him.
The special energy was like a tether, binding Angel tightly to the door.
Because of this bond, the special energy that had originally covered the Door Model also began to contract sharply. Yet this contraction did not mean it was diminishing. Angel could sense that the special energy still maintained a state of balance. It should be able to cover the Door Model again in the future, but how long that would take could only be tested after this experiment.
Once he had confirmed that the special energy would spread again, Angel stopped paying attention to the spell slot and fixed his gaze tightly upon the door
