When Alex watched Bolunlang descend the watchtower step by step, his figure blending into the night and vanishing from sight, Bolunlang finally let out a quiet sigh. "What was meant to come has come."
After returning to his room, Alex lit an oil lamp and gazed silently out the window.
Though he did not know what the earlier screams had meant, as time passed, he faintly began to hear a commotion rising from the streets.
Had they appeared again? This was the question in Alex's heart. Beyond that, he had also grown suspicious of Father Bolunlang. He kept feeling that there was something strange about him. When Bolunlang had stopped him earlier, he seemed to have had some other motive as well.
As time passed, about ten minutes later, a figure slowly appeared in the room.
"Mr. Pat, did you discover anything?"
Alex had returned to the room earlier, but that did not mean Angel had returned with him. Angel had immediately gone to the southern part of Gust Town to inspect the site of the incident.
"Another two people died. Besides that..." Angel paused, and his gaze suddenly darkened.
Alex waited doubtfully for Angel to continue.
"Besides that, I saw the killers."
"Really? Were they Knight Riven?" Alex's heart jolted, and he hurriedly asked.
Angel shook his head. "They were not Knight Riven and Camelot. They were two other people."
As Angel spoke, the illusory power surrounding his consciousness core slowly formed two figures before him. One was a broad, fat woman, while the other was an extremely thin, sickly-looking man.
"These two were undead as well."
Alex swallowed hard, staring fixedly at the two phantom figures as he muttered, "I know both of them. One is Madam Martin, who disappeared yesterday. It seems she met with misfortune too.
