"Since you want to know the truth, I'll tell you." Perhaps because of what had happened earlier, Bolunlang's mindset had undergone a subtle change. He slowly walked aside and pointed at the dagger that had fallen to the ground when Alex subdued him. "But before that, destroy this dagger."
Alex walked over doubtfully and picked up the dagger. For some reason, when he gripped this utterly unremarkable-looking blade, waves of demonic whispers seemed to sound in his ears, while a chill slowly crept up his spine.
"This dagger is strange," Alex said softly. "It seems to contain a great deal of negative energy... It should not exist in this age."
Angel looked at Alex in some surprise. As an alchemist, even without a physical body, he could easily tell from his trained eye that the dagger had acquired its current grim chill only after being steeped in deathly aura for a long time. Yet Alex, a mere mortal, had seen through the dagger's true nature at a glance. That was beyond Angel's expectations.
"This dagger came from the Realm of the Dead. It carries the Realm of the Dead's aura, which is why she could sense the dagger and locate us, using it to kill me," Bolunlang said. "Although she believes I am dead now, the dagger is still here. If she remembers it, she could come back at any time. So it must be destroyed as soon as possible."
Bolunlang's words revealed a great deal of information, including the Realm of the Dead and the "she" he had mentioned. Alex's doubts only deepened.
"I know what you want to ask right now. Once we deal with this dagger, I'll tell you everything," Bolunlang said.
Alex hesitated for a moment, but ultimately nodded and prepared to destroy the dagger outright.
