A sharp crack rang out.
In the central hall of the Research Institute's fiftieth floor, a glass door opened, and Angel stepped out of a device resembling an elevator.
The last time he had come here, Midora had still been present. Now, there was no one at all.
Following the quiet, narrow corridor, Angel soon arrived at a mechanical hall.
Inside the mechanical hall stood the only display case on the entire fiftieth floor.
Angel had originally planned to head straight to Fantasy Mechanical City, but as he looked at the lone display case sitting atop its high platform, a strange sense of guidance welled up within him, drawing him unconsciously closer.
Just as he had seen last time, the display case's exterior was extravagantly luxurious beyond compare, yet its interior was completely empty.
It was called a display case, but the item meant to be displayed within it had never been placed there.
Angel extended a finger and slowly touched the wall of the case.
The moment his fingertip touched the icy glass, a concealed energy rippled outward around the display case. Immediately afterward, a screen of light seemed to rise from beneath the water, appearing before Angel's eyes as rings of ripples like water spread through the air.
This light screen was the display case's introduction.
There was only one line of text on it: "Name: Unknown (Reincarnation Box). Effect: Unknown. Creator: Ivo Spreit."
Angel stared at that line, faint glimmers flickering uncertainly in his eyes.
Back then, Angel had asked Midora about the display case. Midora's answer had been vague, as though he did not wish to speak much about it, and Angel had not pursued the matter further.
The reason Angel was looking at those words again now was mainly because of... the name Reincarnation Box.
