"Paladova? That should be a city in the Yirong Kingdom, right?" Frod searched his memories carefully. "When I went to Sky Mechanical City a few years ago, I passed through Paladova. At the time, its architectural style was still transitioning between old and new. By now, it should have completely aligned with the style of the Yirong Kingdom, shouldn't it?"
"My lord, what specifically would you like to ask about?"
"I want to know whether there are any extraordinary factions there."
"Extraordinary factions? The Yirong Kingdom's only extraordinary faction is Sky Mechanical City. Sky Mechanical City's shadow lies behind the entire Yirong Kingdom. There may be some obscure wizard families among the other factions, but I don't know much about them."
Angel nodded and did not ask further, letting Frod leave first.
He had asked about Paladova because of Irene. According to what Glen had said yesterday, during the first half of Drizzle Rain Month, Paladova was very close to Sky Mechanical City. The road between them passed through nothing but ordinary mountains and wilderness, so there should not have been any danger.
Therefore, Angel wanted to know whether there was anything unusual about Paladova itself.
But now, it seemed that Paladova had nothing abnormal about it either.
That meant Irene had most likely encountered something—or someone—during her journey there or back.
Alan had now gone alone to Paladova to investigate. Angel did not know whether he would be able to find any trace of Irene.
Angel sighed softly. After all, Irene was a friend who had set out with them. He still hoped she was safe and unharmed.
