After passing through a long tunnel, Angel felt the view before him suddenly open up. A small town brimming with fairy-tale charm stood in the distance.

Turning windmills, brightly colored cottages, and crisscrossing streets formed the characteristic townscape of the Inner Earth Kingdom.

Angel's group strolled leisurely along a path lined with flower fields on both sides, as though out for a walk. Leading them was a parchment merchant named Kashu, one of the mortals who had previously asked them for help.

Though Kashu walked at the front, he kept glancing back from time to time. Yet he did not dare let his gaze rest on the wizard masters, instead looking toward the very back of the group.

Iva, afflicted with madness, followed close behind them step by step. Like a normal person, he was remarkably well-behaved.

When Kashu had first seen him, he had thought the wizard masters had cured Iva. But upon closer inspection, he discovered that Iva's expression was still twisted, his eyes strange and crazed. Perhaps the wizard masters had used some method to make Iva turn a blind eye to those around him, obediently trailing behind them.

After examining Iva, Kashu slowly shifted his gaze to another person—old Ham.

Old Ham was not walking now, because he was unconscious. A flying octopus had bound him with its tentacles, suspending him in midair. As the group advanced, the octopus moved forward as well, and old Ham drifted behind it like a kite let loose.

Kashu did not know what old Ham had experienced in the wall cave earlier, but seeing the wizard masters restraining him like this, a vague suspicion arose in his heart.
