"Here we are. This is the place." Tree Spirit and Angel descended from the sky.
Angel looked around. This was a flat expanse of land with no end in sight in any direction. There were no rolling snow-capped mountains, no frozen rivers—only an ordinary wasteland.
There was not much snow, just a thin layer, not even as thick as a finger joint. In many places, the snow did not cover the ground, exposing the gray rubble beneath, bleak and cold.
"You sensed the anomaly, didn't you?" Tree Spirit asked.
Angel nodded. Although this place looked utterly desolate and showed no sign of man-made structures, the moment he arrived, his keen spiritual senses detected faint spatial fluctuations somewhere.
That was presumably where the relic lay.
However, this relic was somewhat unusual. Angel could sense the spatial fluctuations, yet he could not capture or open them.
It had not yet emerged into the world. It was sealed within layer upon layer of spatial crevices, and to activate the relic, one had to accurately pinpoint its location amid those endless cracks.
This was no easy task. Even now, they had yet to locate which spatial crevice the demon behind Azaz was hiding in.
But since Tree Spirit had brought him here, there had to be another way to enter this relic.
Sure enough, Tree Spirit soon gave him the answer. "Entering this relic is not difficult. You only need a key."
The so-called key was not a key in the traditional sense, but an object related to the relic.
Tree Spirit took out a bundle of parchment scrolls and handed them to Angel. "This is the key."
After taking the parchment scrolls, Angel noticed a line of words written on their outer layer in a somewhat archaic form of the common language: "Tizhalo
