Maya went on to describe several future fragments she had seen. The one that concerned everyone most was the prophecy concerning Madeleine, the "Brutal Thorn."
After Maya displayed the fragment she had seen as an illusion,
Angel immediately said, "I've seen the girl who killed Madeleine in this future fragment."

"It wasn't Dongla hunting Madeleine. Madeleine was hunting Dongla," Angel clarified for Maya. "Dongla was previously afflicted by the Calamity Curse. She seemed to have changed bodies and become a little girl, using Yisu as an alias. Her strength also declined accordingly. The last time I encountered Madeleine, she was tracking Dongla."
Angel looked toward the illusion Maya had created. It was still frozen on the final moment, when Dongla bit Madeleine's head to pieces.
"Now it seems that either Madeleine found Dongla but did not kill her immediately, instead bringing her back to Thorn Ridge to imprison her, only to be killed in return; or Madeleine never found Dongla, and Dongla slowly recovered her strength until she eventually returned to Thorn Ridge, where Madeleine was, and killed her instead."
