Stepping out from the illusory barrier was Duncan, cloaked from head to toe in black. A summoning wizard of the mystic side, he specialized in summoning skeletal remains and was known as "Nether Whisper."

When Duncan saw his staff in the Tree Spirit Lord's hand, the anger on his face vanished instantly. He did not even look at the staff again, as though it did not exist.

"Tree Spirit Lord, why have you come here?"

"I brought..." The Tree Spirit was about to say Angel's name, but immediately realized something and changed his words. "I brought a wizard who has studied ruins to take a look."

After a pause, the Tree Spirit glanced at Duncan. "Unless something unexpected happened, Rhein should have notified you. But if you were slacking off, then you most likely did not receive the message."

Duncan ignored the Tree Spirit's accusation that he had been slacking off. The ruin was not currently in an active phase, and he had merely taken a brief rest. How could that count as slacking? Of course, he did not dare say any of that aloud. His staff was still in the Tree Spirit's hands.

Duncan said nothing, tacitly accepting the Tree Spirit's words, then turned to look at the person beside him.

With red hair and golden eyes, he was a middle-aged man who looked lazy from his gaze to his stance.

Judging from the fluctuations he deliberately gave off, he was a formal wizard. Yet Duncan could not find any wizard in his memory whose appearance matched the man before him.

Either he was a wandering wizard, or he had altered his appearance.

Naturally, Duncan could not know every wizard there was. But a wizard personally brought here by the Tree Spirit, and specifically mentioned by Rhein, could not
