The moment those hands passed through the wall, wrapped around him, and leaned back, Angel felt as though he had bid farewell to the light and plunged into—an abyssal sea without light.
All around him was darkness and silence.
Everything in the world had fallen silent. Only his body, like a whale fall, kept sinking toward the ocean floor.
And in this dark world, there was pressure like that of the deep sea, leaving Angel unable to control his body. Even his spiritual power was restricted; he did not even have the strength to turn his head and see who was holding him from behind.
He could only let himself keep sinking, guided by an unseen force.
Angel had expected this feeling of being unable to control himself in the dark to be terrible. Yet unexpectedly, he did not feel much negativity. Instead, he became very calm.
Even the urgency from being attacked at the entrance to the passage earlier was smoothed away by this boundless darkness, leaving only peace and stillness.
Perhaps because his emotions had calmed, Angel began to notice and magnify the details of his surroundings.
The first thing he noticed was the pair of arms embracing him from behind. Though he could not see who was holding him, Angel could feel that the embrace was exceedingly light—gentle, even.
Yet one thing puzzled Angel: throughout the embrace, the other party would loosen their hold from time to time, then tighten it again.
Angel could sense that as the embrace loosened and tightened, the emotions coming from behind him constantly changed as well. At times excited, at times withdrawn, at times worried, at times hesitant.
