Angel had originally wanted to hear what this enormous mushroom tree before him was saying, but the moment he extended his spiritual power, he heard a piercing scream.
Angel quickly withdrew his spiritual power and slowly pulled his hand back as well.
Since he could get no answer from this mushroom that appeared calm on the outside but was a blazing inferno within, Angel decided to search for it himself.
Judging by the conversation this mushroom had displayed on the "forum" earlier, that "filthy fellow" it despised yet wanted to approach should be nearby.
Angel first looked around the shaded side of the mushroom. It was much the same as before: dense stands of enormous mushrooms everywhere. There were occasionally small mushrooms on the ground, but not many.
Since there was nothing in this direction, Angel prepared to circle around the broad mushroom stalk and see what lay directly ahead.
The surging waves of flame that kept crashing toward him came from the front. If there was anything unusual, it should be in that direction as well.
Filled with great anticipation, Angel came around to the front of the mushroom stalk. When he raised his head and looked ahead, he froze for a moment.
There were still rows upon rows of towering mushroom groves ahead, but Angel could already glimpse some distant scenery through them... intense red light, searing heat, and fiery winds swirling with a thick, pungent stench.
Though he could not see the whole picture clearly, Angel could tell that it was a lake made of lava.
Angel walked forward step by step. Once he had passed through the entire crimson mushroom forest, he finally saw the full expanse of the lava lake.
