From its appearance, Angel could tell that this pure-white mushroom was a Message Mushroom.
However, compared with the Message Mushrooms he had seen in the mushroom forest outside, this one was at least twice as large. It looked like a towering mushroom tree. Beyond that, it had another unusual feature: above the mouthpart that grew musical notes was an extra round eyeball.
That enormous, sharply black-and-white eye was staring at Angel.

Angel studied the Message Mushroom carefully and murmured, "Is this the parent body of the Message Mushroom?"
The moment his words fell, a coarse voice rang out. "Honored Lord Shava, your judgment is correct. This is indeed the parent body of the Message Mushroom."
Hearing someone respond to his murmur, Angel's expression did not change in the slightest. Even his gaze as he observed the Message Mushroom did not waver. He merely said blandly, "Are Message Mushrooms cultivated through their spores?"
"The offspring of Message Mushrooms are indeed spread through spores, but the parent body is not cultivated through spores. It requires a mycelial offshoot gestated within the parent body." Angel received an answer the instant his question ended. "Lord Shava, do you intend to cultivate Message Mushrooms?"
Angel continued examining the plump white parent mushroom for a while before casually lifting his gaze toward the source of the voice behind it.
Angel had seen earlier, outside the castle, that behind the Message Mushroom stood a statue fountain. He had originally assumed the speaker was the statue standing atop the fountain. But to his surprise, the one speaking was the statue's hat.
