When Angel returned to the study, he glanced back at the Tree Spirit.
The Tree Spirit looked calm, but a leaping flame could clearly be seen hidden deep in his eyes.
For the Tree Spirit, apart from gossip, his greatest pleasures were adventure and exploration. Unfortunately, his true body was confined within the Mirror World, making it difficult for him to venture out and explore. This time, following Angel into the hidden room was a rare opportunity for exploration, so naturally, he was extremely excited.
Seeing Angel begin to prepare defensive spells, the Tree Spirit said, "If there really is danger, you don't need to worry about me. I'm only a spirit split-off; even if I die, it won't have much effect."
Angel nodded.
"You needn't worry too much either. If there truly is an irresistible danger, I'll have someone come save you immediately."
Though the Tree Spirit said so, there was a faint excitement in his voice, as though he was very glad to see such a scene. After all, how could an exploration without danger be called an adventure?
Once Angel had prepared his own defenses, he immediately began setting up a barrier around the study.
He was considering more than merely his own safety. If danger burst out from within the ruins, it could very likely harm the others inside as well, so he had to set up a defensive barrier in advance.
After the barrier was arranged, Angel called Baruba over and told him to keep watch on the barrier at all times. Once its color began to deepen, he was to immediately go to the third underground level and notify the Mushroom Witch, then take Babaya and Ku Doudou away from the ruins.
