After the door opened, the sight within took Angel somewhat by surprise.
The room was brimming with blue Gloomlight.
Angel had thought the foundation of laws would manifest in some tangible form—perhaps a water sphere, a statue, some miraculous symbol... But it had not. The room was utterly empty. The only thing there was endless blue Gloomlight.
The dense water-element veins rippling behind the light made Angel feel as though he had once again been cast into the sea.
Those water-element veins continuously drew Angel in, making him want to reach out and touch them more closely.
So, he took a step forward.
Yet before his foot could cross the threshold, he was rebuffed by a powerful force. It was as though an invisible barrier stood before him. No matter how much strength Angel used, he could not advance another step.
Just as Angel was wondering about it, Rhein let out a soft laugh and walked into the room.
His treatment was completely different from Angel's. Rhein encountered no obstruction at all and strolled inside with unhurried ease. He paused where he stood to ponder for a moment before turning around to meet Angel's questioning gaze.
"Lord Rhein, what is going on?" Angel asked in confusion. Why could he not enter while Rhein could?
"You cannot enter because there is the power of laws within. No matter how weak the power of laws may be, it is not something one can casually step into." Rhein said, "As for why I can enter, it is because I have already comprehended water-element veins myself, so I am not bound by the water-element laws here."
Put simply, only those who had comprehended the veins of the corresponding laws could enter. In other words, if the laws here were not water-element laws but gravity
