Angel slowly opened his eyes, a low groan slipping from his throat as the weightlessness left him feeling somewhat ill.

After staring blankly for a few seconds, Angel swiftly sat up from the parched ground. He first sensed through his entire body, making sure nothing was missing, then stirred his magic source. Only after confirming that his energy was in no danger did he breathe a sigh of relief and look around.

The world was pitch-black. To the naked eye, almost nothing could be seen. He could only vaguely tell that the surroundings were exceedingly open.

When he raised his head to the sky, he saw a lone crescent moon hanging in the deep-black heavens.

Angel struggled to his feet and surveyed his surroundings by the gentle moonlight.

—An endless wilderness, a boundless black night.

"This wilderness... looks a little familiar." The image of Starry Sky and Tree surfaced in Angel's mind. After comparing them briefly, he let out a deep sigh.

Other than the lack of a brilliant starry sky overhead, the surroundings were exactly the same as the oil painting in the treasure chest.

Even the lone great tree standing in the empty wilderness corresponded perfectly to the painting.

"Looks like I really entered the painting," Angel muttered softly.

He stood where he was and pondered for a moment, attempting to use his senses to find a way out of this world within the painting. Unfortunately, at least for now, he could find no flaw to exploit.

Still, Angel was not overly flustered. As far as he knew, the ability to link the flat world within a painting to the three-dimensional world of reality was something only Feng had ever been said to possess.
