Returning to this fantastical city that was both familiar and unfamiliar, Nausicaa still had not quite recovered from the shock.
"It's not your first time here. Why do you still look like such a country bumpkin?" Nis's teasing voice came from behind her.
Nausicaa was not some little girl who would blush at a dirty joke. Her years as a pirate had exposed her to far too many similar scenes. If it had been someone else, she would not have minded tossing back a few suggestive remarks herself. But the person before her was Nis... Nausicaa could only smile faintly and pretend she had not heard him.
"Don't pay attention to his nonsense," Angel said from beside her.
Nausicaa looked deeply at Angel, her heart full of emotion. The boy who had blushed after being teased a few times when she first met him had truly grown up now. He even knew how to stand up for a lady.
Nausicaa wanted to praise Angel a little, but after thinking it over, she decided against it. Angel had become a formal wizard, after all, and the gulf between them had widened immensely. Though they could still interact casually in ordinary times, Nausicaa still observed certain rules. If something crossed the line, it was best left unsaid.
"Have you forgotten what my profession used to be? I don't mind jokes like that." Nausicaa blinked and smiled. "I was just thinking that entering this world does not necessarily require a login device."
Her login device had been single-use, and the previous one could no longer be used. This time, Angel had pulled her into the Dream Wilderness.
