"You should go now." After chatting with Davaxia for quite a while, Angel stroked Spotty Dog's head and spoke softly.
Though Spotty Dog was clearly reluctant to part, it ultimately jumped down from Angel's arms and slowly walked over to Davaxia's side.
After bidding Davaxia farewell,
Davaxia and Spotty Dog slowly returned to the entrance of the passage. A ball of flesh and a milk-white puppy slowly sank into the pool, finally vanishing without a trace.
Angel silently watched the spot where they had disappeared. Only after the ripples in the Star Pool had completely settled did he sigh softly to himself, turn, and walk toward Lord Rhein.
"They have nothing else to do, so they won't be leaving Heart's Desire again anytime soon," Angel said.
Rhein nodded. Angel had not shielded his earlier conversation with Davaxia, so Rhein had heard Angel's probing questions. Davaxia clearly revered the so-called "Lady Shava" and had concealed nothing in response to Angel's questions. When the matter of leaving Heart's Desire came up, Davaxia had visibly resisted it. This showed that the monsters in Heart's Desire did not wish to venture into the outside world, where there was no aura of the Nightmare Realm.
"Still, the barrier here needs to be repaired. After all, who knows whether something unexpected might happen?" Only after Angel finished speaking to himself did he belatedly realize that saying such things was rather meaningless. He and the Nightmare Realm creatures shared a certain tacit understanding, but Lord Rhein did not. Thus, Lord Rhein's concerns were surely far greater than his own, and his considerations more far-reaching. There was no need for Angel to worry about repairs to the barrier at all.
The two returned to the observation pavilion together.
Iron Armor Granny and the Tree Spirit glanced at them.
