In the blink of an eye, another day had passed.
Angel, who had been bent over his desk for more than sixty hours straight, finally raised his head. He lifted a hand to massage his throbbing temples and let out a long breath of stale air.
After easing some of his weariness, Angel lowered his head again and returned his attention to the notebook on the desk.
More than ten pages of the notebook had been turned. Its yellowed parchment pages were densely packed with all manner of data and formulas. From how dry the ink was, one could tell these were all records from the past three days.
On the newest page was a diagram of a structural model that was quite irregular, yet somehow harmonious.
This was the green pattern structure Angel had ultimately derived after analyzing the green dot Spotty Dog had spat out earlier.
Since Spotty Dog had already provided the answer and he was merely working backward from it, the difficulty had not been great. It had taken him only three days to derive it. Yet even with the result in hand, Angel still did not really understand how green patterns operated, nor the secret behind why different green pattern structures could be combined together.
Pinching the bridge of his nose as he thought for a while, Angel ultimately decided to put the research aside for now.
The structure of green patterns was completely different from a wizard's power system. It was like the difference between the "talent theory" and the "bloodline theory." Within the wizard system, even "talent theory" was not absolute. Talent was merely a threshold, not the deciding factor in one's ultimate achievements. Even those without talent could gain it through potions. But the green pattern system resembled bloodline theory: bloodline determined
