"Wouldn't it be inappropriate to just leave them here?" After Angel returned to the tavern, Madam Mero stepped forward and asked in a low voice.

After arriving at the tavern, these Talented Ones had clearly not fully recovered from their shock. They still looked shaken, and were basically just sitting blankly at the tables, spacing out.

Though the tavern was not open today, the doorway could not block the eyes outside. Madam Mero worried that if those guards happened to patrol by and spotted them, it might stir up more trouble.

Angel said, "There's nothing inappropriate about it. Don't worry, nothing will happen."

In Angel's view, even if the guards discovered them, it would be no great matter. Did they really dare make a move here? And even if they did, there was nothing to fear.

Still, this was Old Potter's territory, a hidden chess piece Savage Cave had placed here. Even if that chess piece was not particularly important, Angel would still avoid exposing it if he could.

Thus, though the heart-macaque within him was already wildly declaring that there was nothing to fear, he kept the reins of his mind-horse pulled tight.

And those reins were illusion.

Angel had laid down a layer of illusion outside the tavern, one that could unknowingly influence everyone who entered its range.

After setting up the illusion, Angel had Madam Mero go find Old Potter, while he remained in the front hall and casually chatted with Dox.

Though they were chatting casually and no topic was off limits, Angel deliberately brought up the changes in the Guman Kingdom from time to time, hoping to sound Dox out.
