Angel gestured for Little Tom to go wait off to the side with the other gifted ones, so he could get acquainted with them in advance.
Little Tom suppressed the excitement in his heart and nodded somewhat tremulously.
What excited him was not his own talent. He still had no real conception of it. The reason he was excited was that he now understood Angel's intentions—Angel was preparing to guide him into joining a wizard organization!
To Little Tom, this was an opportunity beyond measure! The blood-deep vendetta he carried was not limited to that little squad leader he had buttered up every day before.
The reason he had only treated that squad leader as his target for revenge was because, with his abilities back then, the highest level he could reach was that of a squad leader. Yet that squad leader was merely a pawn charging at the front. Hidden behind him were an extraordinary knightly guard, the vast Princess Castle, and the even more unassailable Guman Royal House.
Before this, he had never dared imagine taking revenge against such colossal entities. But things were different now. So long as he joined a wizard organization, he would possess a ticket into the hall of transcendence. When that time came, even if he could not shake the entire Guman Royal House, he could at least kill several more enemies and wash away his hatred with blood.
Thus, although Angel had never once sought Little Tom's opinion from beginning to end, Little Tom felt no discomfort at being constrained. Instead, he was filled with gratitude toward Angel.
