Angel had said this because he had not come to see Tulas this time merely to catch up. He had come at Mandhaila's request, to sound Tulas out.
Mandhaila, the Guman King's thirteenth daughter, had been falsely accused by the eldest princess and implicated in the case of the missing Crimson Sovereignty. In the end, the Guman King stripped her of her royal title and demoted her to a commoner. Yet even so, the eldest princess had not spared her. Through every kind of scheme, she reduced Mandhaila to a slave. After drifting from place to place, Mandhaila had ultimately fallen into the Black Castle of the Fairy Tale World.
At that time, the Black Castle had yet to welcome back its "Dusk King," Isabella. It had instead been controlled by the "Dusk Empress," Isabella. This Isabella was utterly different from the former. She was a bloodthirsty witch, and under her rule, the Black Castle had become a veritable devil's den steeped in darkness and evil.
The witches there all followed Isabella's example, bathing in virgins' blood to preserve their youth forever. And it was there that Mandhaila became a blood slave, tortured through bloodletting.
When Angel first went to the Black Castle, he encountered Mandhaila. After her death, he had accidentally fired a White Light Bullet from Prelude of Reincarnation at her, after she had fallen and become an undead.
Because of that bullet, Mandhaila later became a special undead possessed of intelligence. Amid the Black Castle's unique geographical environment, she became a terrifying Undead Queen and nearly overturned the Black Castle.
Later, Angel once again used Prelude of Reincarnation to "save" Mandhaila. He brought her to Dream Wilderness, hoping that the relatively simple and honest customs of Firstheart City would change her nature.
