Martial law in Princess Town was even stricter than imagined. A large-scale magic energy array covering the entire town had been activated. Vast mana barriers stood around Princess Town like a square Dome, sealing it inside a gigantic transparent box.
Moreover, Princess Town itself was located within an alternate space. With that, the entire town had become an isolated island.
And the isolated island's sole exit was tightly controlled by the guard army. Entry was permitted; exit was not.
At that moment, Dox stood atop a small hillock, looking at the distant exit. A fierce red gleam flashed through his eyes. "Should we kill our way out?"
Angel said, "No need. We can just walk out."
With that, Angel lightly snapped his fingers, and an illusion of light and shadow enveloped both him and Dox.
"Let's go," Angel said to Dox through the Mind Tether.
"Are we really just going out like this? Won't we be discovered?" Dox was still somewhat doubtful, but he followed nonetheless. If it did not work, they could always force their way through.
Angel said nothing, answering Dox's question directly with his actions.
They were not far from the exit. The area was filled with guards, yet when Angel and Dox approached, they moved as though entering uninhabited territory. Not a single guard discovered them.
Most importantly, the magic energy array covering all of Princess Town seemed to have lost its effect on them.
As for the mana barriers, they were child's play for two formal wizards.
Without alerting anyone, they easily left the magic energy array and appeared at the Hunter's Cabin outside.
